We stayed in a pod for a night, breaking up our long journey from the Scottish Highlands to Derbyshire. We have stayed in all types of 'alternative accommodation' at YHAs up and down the country, and to be honest the pod was very basic- there wasn't a chair and table inside for example for when we wanted to play a board game. We played outside but were swarmed by midges! A foldable one under the bed would have been a good shout. However, first impressions didn't count, as we had an excellent night's sleep, very comfortable and cosy. We also had tea there and the food was wonderful. The shared facilities were so clean and the lounge area was lovely too. To top it off, the lady who greeted us on arrival was so friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be at work, we felt warmly welcomed! Thanks YHA.
