Leander Club

The worst food I have had to eat in long time. Firstly, the menu was very poor, there was nothing on it that I actually wanted to eat and the menu sheet itself was dirty. Being hungry I just had to eat something, so opted for the seared tuna with a vegetable mash thing. The vegetable mash was almost cold and the tuna was hot seared properly. The waitress said she would tell the chef, but I doubt there was a chef in their kitchen. Never again.

So we were a party of 9 all meeting up for the evening and staying the night. The out side area was good with it own bar. The staff were very friendly. We then went for dinner at 1930 and were put into a separate room. This was ok but not requested. The menu was very basic but what we had was good. One point the waitress need to know the menu so not having to keep going back to the kitchen to ask. We were looked after by the staff, then the dreaded happened. 2210 its last orders at the bar ! Ok then at 1030 we were asked to leave the table as they wanted to shut the room up. We said ok and we would go to the bar. No you can’t it’s shut we said we are residents but it made no difference. The guy then became rude with us and muttered that we should have paid £145 for the room and we got it free !!! We never ask for the room in the first place So we said when can we go now ? The response was to your rooms as we are now shut. So off we all went like naughty school kids to our rooms at 2240. So we thought let’s watch the TV but that didn’t work either and nor did it in any of the rooms. One of our party mentioned it to the staff earlier but no one was interested. The breakfast was very good the next morning. All in all it was very disappointing. And certainly note worth £145 per night

the view is wonderful, we loved watching the rowers out on training and riverlife. Our room was spacious and comfotable. Very clean. Breakfast was lovely on our last morning. (no restaurent or bar on Mon and Tuesday). Great location for exploring the town and beyond. All the staff are lovely. onsite parking is much appreciated

We had our company event at the Leander this year which went extremely well and was enjoyed by our whole team. We were looked after by Mandy and her team who made us feel extremely welcome. The food was also excellent... highly recommended for this sort of function!

We stayed again at the Leander. I recommend the Cambridge room for the river views. Breakfasts and service excellent, enhanced by Ricardo, who was charming and efficient. At 6 am, I saw a punter in the mist!

Have been many times before. This time I booked the ‘Library’ for a day of business meetings. Everything was ready when I arrived, the staff are relaxed but highly efficient. All tea/coffee and lunches were wonderful. Highly recommend location and facilities
