Our spontaneous decision to spend the weekend skiing at Alpe d’Huez led us to stay at the Pin Blanc hotel, and overall, it was a delightful experience. Despite not being able to check in early, the staff warmly welcomed us, allowing us to change into our ski clothes at the spa and conveniently pick up our rental skis in the basement, complete with lockers. Arriving at 10:30, we were on the slopes by 12:30! Upon returning at 5 pm, we were pleased to find a very comfortable room with a mountain view and balcony. Highlights included the quietude of our room, shielded from elevator noise by double doors, and its tasteful decor. Additionally, amenities like a fridge, Nespresso machine, and assor**ent of teas were appreciated. The bathroom was well-appointed, featuring lovely products, with the body milk leaving a delightful fragrance. Breakfast was abundant, served in a spacious room overlooking the mountains, and the 5 pm tea time offering madeleines, crepes, and hot chocolate was a nice touch. On the downside, the bathtub took an exceptionally long time to fill and had drainage issues. Also the hotel wasn’t ski in- ski out, we had to walk 5 min to the base of the mountain. Special thanks to François at AltitudeSports for his invaluable assistance in ensuring our skiing experience was exceptional, and to Opale, Carla, and Juliette for their warm morning greetings.
