"The room was tiny, dark and the bucket lift had a great view straight into the room! Returned home with many bed bug bites. A friend who was in another room also went home with bites. Staff not great and I didn't even attempt the breakfast."

"We were incorrectly charged tourist tax by the hotel. Something they revealed by accident when we asked to settle our bill for breakfast. They decided not to charge for breakfast, but still owed us an outstanding balance. They did not refund us on the day but asked that we email our details. Despite repeated attempts to gain the refund they have still not done so. Fellow travellers beware."

"This hotel is great, everything was smooth. There is a ski rental shop right under the hotel, and the. hotel has lockers to keep your skis and boots. There is ski access to a chairlift, so you can ski directly to a charlift from the hotel's door! The food at the restaurant of the hotel Chez Jules was delicious and their breakfast buffet was great. The sauna and the steam room was great to relax after a long day of ski. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great too, you can easily walk everywhere, it is close to great restaurants. The hotel has a lot of sunlight and a great view. We loved our balcony in the room too. Highly recommend staying here! It was the perfect ski trip. "

"I stayed here with a group of work colleagues for a Winter Confetence. I can’t speak highly enough of the people there who did everything they could to make our stay as great as possible. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The location is great for access to the slopes with two lifts within a few meters. There are a load of great restaurants within easy reach of the hotel but it also does great food on the premises. The accommodation was really clean and well maintained and there are amazing views from the rooms. I can thoroughly recommend this for a great stay and will definitely be going back."

"Main concern! Deposit has not been returned and there has been 0 info from the hotels as to why. Also, contacting the hotel is a nightmare. Someone please give me my 500€ back! Thank you. Overall stay is fine if you don’t expect any luxury and spend all your time outside the apartment and just use it to sleep. (A bit pricey for what it is) Small, super used, quite dirty, no extra nothing, ski room laughable. But staff was quite nice, and the building is close to the slopes. Spa was fine"

"This hotel truly made our Tomorrowland Winter experience 1000000% better. First, the location is fantastic! Just a short walk to the festival grounds, and right next to the gondola. I can literally run out and snowboard right away! :) Next, the staff were just AMAZING and super friendly! I especially LOVE LOVE LOVE the staff who brought us chocolates and treats every night. And everyone there was just so friendly and kind. The food at the restaurant was excellent! I am absolutely obsessed with that les croziflette. I also loooove all the drinks too. The room is so cozy and warm. I love the ski chalet and log cabin theme. And everything was super clean and comfortable. After the festival, I literally slept for 24 hours in that comfy bed. Thank you SO SO SO much! Please save me a spot for TML Winter 2027 :)"

Résidence Pierre & Vacances les Bergers Hotels in Huez

Résidence Pierre & Vacances les Bergers

"I felt I had to write this as I have just seen the previous two reviews and I stayed in January 2024 and my experience was very different. Firstly we booked an apartment that sleep 6 for 3 people, we always do this in France from previous experience. This meant we had lots of space, two twin beds as you come in, 2 sofa beds in living area where we made up one and used the other as a sofa. Plenty storage for us all. On arrival there was a kit provided with some dish washer tablets, some clothes, a little washing up liquid etc. tea towels also provided. Yes there was only one toilet roll but this is standard in any self catering accommodation in France, as is no cleaning/bed making during the week. On each floor there was rubbish disposal including recycling, I found this very handy as in other places we have had to take down to a central area on complex. Our apartment had modern (ikea type) furniture, which was basic but adequate. The kitchen lots of utensils, good pans for cooking etc. The pool was lovely, the sauna worked for the first half of the week only which was disappointing. The restaurant was nice and reasonable prices, they also do takeaway too with reduced pricing. It is very handy for the ski area, 5 mins walk on a morning and you can ski through the park to right opposite the reception (weather permitting) when you finish for the day. I would have no issues in staying again. It is a 15/20 minute walk into the main but for a night time if you plan to go out every night."

Chalet Hotel Alp'Azur ★★★
"Lovely place in a great location, with very friendly and welcoming staff. I thought it was very reasonably priced for the quality of accommodation. It has a warm and traditional chalet feel and was spotlessly clean at all times. We were a group of three, 1 adult, 2 teenage boys (16 and 18) and stayed in a triple room (room 21). The room was nicely decorated, the 3 single beds were comfortable, the bathroom was a decent size, the shower was powerful and always hot. Our room didn't have a balcony, as not every room does, but this didn't bother us particularly. It was a South-facing room, and the view was superb. Breakfast - continental with high quality breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, eggs, cereal, quiche and tarts. Perfect. Wifi - free, not quite up to streaming, but fine for everything else. Ski and boot storage - plenty room in the ski room accessed from outside. Boot room with dryers/warmers accessible from reception. Nearby - 3 ski rental shops within a few meters of the hotel, loads of restaurants and bars within a very short walk. Ski access - bucket lift across the road which takes you to the bottom of the pistes. You can ski back to the hotel, but it's pretty flat so not much good on a snowboard! Criticisms - nothing of note. The room was too hot on the first night, even with the radiator switched off. Open the window in the evening and it's fine, as long as there is no-one singing on the street in the early hours! If I return to Alpe d'Huez, I'll probably go back to this hotel."

Grandes Rousses Hotel & Spa ★★★★★
"Very well situated able to ski straight onto the piste. Breakfast should be included in the room rate, the walls between rooms were incredibly thin and could hear everything. I have also never been to a hotel where the guest is charged to use the spa facilities, overall very expensive. Staff very helpful with restaurant recommendations, transfers, ski passes and ski/boot hire, made the whole experience much smoother "

"The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Location was fantastic and the views from the room amazing. Room was a good size for what was needed. It also overlooks directly on the Tourist finish of Alp D'Huez for any other cyclists interested! I tried the dinner on one night, couldn't fault it, was what I needed after a day of cycling. Within a stonethrow away from further dining and shops. Great value for money and would definately book there again."

Hôtel Au Chamois d'Or by les Etincelles ★★★★★
"attentive and friendly staff, beautiful interior and perfect location at the main lifts. Only weakness was the breakfast buffet execution. Breakfast order mistakes, dirty dinnerware, broken egg boiler and cold hotplates that were not noticed by staff over multiple days suggests work process problems that were largely overcome by friendly staff."
