Good location, very clean room, nice staff. Onsite restaurant, good coffee machine and coffee in the room, but no microwave in the room.

Location is fantastic. Lodge is fine - nothing fancy but serviceable. You pay for the location. One of our pillows had something gross on it. I took it to the front desk and they replaced it. Manager said she was sorry and would give a discount for that first night. When I got the bill in email...NO discount given (not surprised). The shower head is pathetic...less than a 2-inch drizzle of water. There ARE low-flow showerheads that can give you a decent shower. This showerhead was awful. As for the restaurant at Grant Grove - skip it if you can - you order on a touchpad to get overpriced, mediocre (at best) food. We even decided to eat over at Lodgepole in Sequoia the second night rather than eat at Grant Grove again.

Friendly, helpful staff! We had 2 queen bedroom clean and comfortable beds. Quiet surroundings except when everyone coming back at 7 -8 p , but just busy not obnoxiously loud. Clean bathroom & shower too. We slept well the nights we were there.

The best thing is the location. My room was basic with torn chairs and old carpet with crumbs on it. No soundproofing in rooms - can be very noisy. No check in until 4pm and I wasn’t even allowed to confirm my booking until then. So quiet all day, then queues at 4pm. Main issue is with the “dining room”which was filthy. Food everywhere, on the tables, the carpet and my table had a slab of butter or similar on a chair! The food also comes in carry out mode. Personally, I wouldn’t stay here again, although there may not be many other places to choose from.

Quaint older lodge in a great location in Sequoia! I understand many things need updated but the lodge is clean, unique and has many positives including a beautiful lobby with free coffee, tea and games. We loved it!

We had an amazing 3 night stay at the John Muir Lodge! The location is excellent, the rooms were clean and the lobby was nice with free coffee and board games. The WiFi worked great and the staff were kind and helpful. We would return again if visiting the park.

Great furnishings and soft comfortable beds! The rustic setting was very beautiful. It was nice sitting by the fireplace in the lodge great room. It is within walking distance to the museum, restaurant, store and gift shop in Grant Village.

We had originally booked to stay in the cabins, but as it was too snowy we were switched to the hotel. The manager informed us of the change when we checked in and was very welcoming. The best thing by far was the beds! I found them extremely comfy and I enjoyed the selection of pillows. The bathroom was clean and I enjoyed the style of having the sink separate from the toilet and shower so more people can get ready at the same time. The water pressure and temperature of the shower was great and bed linens and towels felt very clean and soft. Definitely recommend!

This is just a warning. Be very careful about the non-refundable rate. I mistakenly booked and it turned out to be the wrong date. I wanted to change for a date a couple of days later and they would not exchange. No credit, nothing. Lost over $200.

We had a really great experience at this lodge , it was very close to the Sequoia Grove and the front desk staff was very friendly, we were having car trouble and they recommended we try using a local guide" Keifer's Giant Sequoia Tours "it was a great suggestion as we were able to see all the important sites and we both were able to enjoy the sites together without us having to drive; Thanks to the staff member for the wonderful suggestion!

The property was nice except for the mattresses. You could feel every spring in the mattress. They did say that they were getting new mattresses in the Spring.

Every time my Family visit Sequoia NP we stay at Wukashi and we always love it. Decided to try John Muir because they have better food choices. I am so dissatisfied with almost everything. It is beautiful area but that’s all. First I booked room for 5 adult people at *******. Upon which at arrival I was told exactly that: “we only have rooms with two queen beds, you can select option for 5 people which only means we will charge you extra for 5th person but it is up to you how you will fit the 5th person into the bed.” Wow… seriously?! I have never seen anything like that. In Wukashi 5 person room means two beds plus extra sofa or sleeper couch. In other hotels it means there is 3rd bed. I am shocked. We had to sleep 3 in one bed, my Mom, my Husband and I in a Queen bed… lol not fun, all of us didn’t sleep. Good it was only one night. Also even though room was for 5 people we got - 3 towels, 2 cups. Huh? We should share the cups and towels too? And room was extremely old and nasty, dirty walls, mold in bathroom, unpleasant carpet, ripped chairs and mattress underneath the sheets. Shocked how bad this place was, truly!

Nice small property. Thought it would be a more full resort. No dining, just a nice small hotel experience. No breakfast or anything special.

A reasonably priced basic lodge to sleep comfortably and quietly in the middle of a beautiful national park. Easy walk to Grants Grove Village with a market, gift shop and restaurant. Restaurant is not full service during non-peak months, but you can get coffee and inexpensive snacks in the lodge 24 hours. Nice outdoor areas with rocking chairs.

It was a nice comfortable lodge to stay at, what I really enjoyed was the location in the park and the road highway 180 going to that side of the park is much nicer than the other side of the park. Also had a great experience booking a tour of the park with a local Tour guide from the town of Dunlap, a great recommendation from the staff!
