Unique family-owned boutique hotel with an observatory. The room area is really cute with great decor touches and a comfortable bed. The common area and the cafe are a bit like an art gallery, with a lot to look at, and books to occupy your time with. The two tipis outside can be rented out for dinner. They are warm and comfortable, we had a great meal.

Compass Rose is a real gem of a place, The rooms are really nice and thoughtfully furnished, the beds are super comfortable. My son and I have stayed here for our annual "father-son" ski trip a number of times and we love it. It's low key and easy. The coffee shop (including their beverage fridge) is a life saver.

This was one of the cutest hotels I've ever stayed in. Proximity to Snow Basin was awesome. The people were so lovely, and the observatory tour is not to be missed! The free breakfast sandwich and coffee are a nice touch. There isn't much in Huntsville itself, but restaurants are nearby in Eden and Ogden.

Beautiful and unique property with great customer service. Unique treats and great baked goods in the coffee shop. The lobby is a lovely spot to hang for breakfast. Great Mountain View’s and cool observatory. Looking forward to another visit.

Room was excellent but lacked appropriate wardrobe space for cloths. Plus a hot tub would have been nice.

I really liked this hotel. The mountain views are peaceful and breathtaking. There is a park within walking distance along with some restaurants and shops. I would like to come back and bring my family here to stay. I forgot a toothbrush and toothpaste and they were kind enough to give me one free of charge. The free breakfast sandwich was really delicious and handmade quality. I did happen to stay during some construction that was nearby. Luckily they started at 8am so it didn't wake me up too early. Very clean hotel, lots of options for lighting. Beautiful weekend getaway/retreat. Highly recommend!

Love the place, however, the shower floor is very slippery. And the beds could be a little more comfortable, but overall a great place to stay.

The Compass Lodge, cute town of Huntsville and Lodge staff are all truly incredible. The rooms are comfy, clean, and beautifully decorated. The coffee and breakfast sandwich at the on-site coffee shop was great! The observatory tour is must! Our primary reason for staying at the lodge was to see the observatory and stars - but a storm came through blocking out most of the night sky. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we still had a great experience and anniversary celebration. They let us use the tipi (usually you need to rent these) and offered complimentary wine which ended up being super cozy and whimsical while the storm passed. And we were also still able to see Saturn during the tour! 10/10 recommend and will be coming back!

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it. It felt like it was right out of a movie. We loved every cute and cozy detail and felt very taken care of during our stay. We were even surprised with a little anniversary gift at our door. We had the best time and we’ll definitely be back.
