Stayed for 4 nights. The welcome upon arrival was first class. The public areas of the hotel are excellent - beautifully furnished and well laid out. The pool area is very pleasant and relaxing. Our room was very spacious (incl separate walk-in wardrobe), and the lovely sea view from the balcony was worth the supplement. Staff are unfailingly polite and go out of their way to help ensure all guests are very happy. My wife said her spa trea**ent was really excellent. A full spread of cakes, pastries, fruit and cooked items is offered for breakfast and these were all very well prepared/cooked. We ate dinner 3 times in the hotel restaurant - the food was excellent each time (and the one dish my wife didn’t like (purely for personal taste reasons) was proactively replaced without any issue by the waiting staff, which impressed me). The dining room felt cavernous with quite harsh lighting, and the hotel adopts a VERY formal “fine dining“ approach throughout which some guests may find overly fussy (e.g. topping up your wine glass 8 times during a meal by a tiny amount each time, and staff eager to carry your self-selected plate of breakfast pastries to your table for you), but each to his own I suppose. Other things I’d change if I could: (i) the bath was extremely narrow, almost uncomfortably so, and (ii) the bedroom was decorated/furnished in a shabby-chic style, but would benefit from a fresh coat of paint and the addition of some nice wall pictures to it feel more chic/homely. However, I would not hesitate to return to this hotel if returning to beautiful Ischia, as it’s is a lovely oasis, well located on the island, with exceptionally high standards of customer service and the staff work so hard to make you feel like a really honoured guest.
