Five-star review! Superb service with incredibly friendly staff – truly the best service in Japan. The room was extremely spacious, right by the river where you could hear the soothing sounds of the water. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous. The hot springs were fantastic, especially soaking in them surrounded by century-old trees.

Although it's a 3-star hotel, the service here is better than any 5-star hotel I've stayed in. I had been traveling for a while and needed to do laundry, so I asked the hotel for a solution. They offered to wash my clothes for me, and when I insisted on paying at checkout, they refused to charge me. One morning at breakfast, I accidentally spilled juice. A staff member immediately brought me a new kimono and directed me to a nearby restroom to change. By the time I returned, everything had been cleaned up. There were also small touches, like when I came back from hiking, they proactively cleaned my trekking poles for me. The service was incredibly thoughtful. The food was also exquisitely prepared and incredibly satisfying for a foodie like me. I highly recommend this onsen ryokan! Among traditional Japanese hot spring hotels, its facilities are quite new. The garden environment is beautiful and the service is superb! The food might not look like a huge portion at first glance, but there are many dishes and it's definitely filling and delicious. The wasabi-themed dishes are especially unique.

This was the hotel we were most looking forward to in Izu. The day we arrived, a young man from the entrance ran over to help us with our luggage from a distance. We were really excited about dinner; there was a huge variety of delicious food. We even paid extra for a lobster sashimi and sake, which was excellent! The room itself was quite simple, but the entire hotel environment was beautiful and clean. The check-out experience was also very unique and a pleasant surprise.

The location is far away from the stations which made the onsen hotel unique and slient. Excellent service, food and environment are both good as well. Had a good stay.

Very enthusiastic staff during check in. Ryokan is run mostly by foreign staff who spoke fluent English. They are hardworking and welcoming. Room allocated is aged and musty smelling. Hot spring bath is good though. Kaiseiki Dinner at this ryokan was the worst of the four we had during our Izu pennisula trip. We were served beef that was not fresh, sashimi with tough tendon that should have been removed by the chef. We will not return and do not recommend.

A truly comfortable and delightful hotel! The food was exquisite and incredibly delicious! I was pleasantly surprised that the wasabi hot pot set menu also came with sashimi, Wagyu beef, and abalone? Or was it soft-shelled turtle? (The lobster in the picture was ordered separately.) Overall, the food was prepared with great care. The hotel has a traditional Japanese style, and the courtyard is absolutely beautiful. Although our English isn't great, the front desk staff was very patient and meticulous in explaining all the rules to us. During meals, she even introduced each dish and spoke a few words of Chinese – we really loved her! There was an unexpected and wonderful surprise when we checked out: all the staff came out to bid us farewell and even held up a banner that said, "Please come again!" It was so touching and made us so happy; the emotional value was completely maximized. The room we booked included a private onsen, which was available 24 hours a day. We will definitely be back!!!
