The Square Hotel Kanazawa

Although the room rate are similar, two room size has big difference. We checked in two different room type in different dates, the first one with a big window (from bottom to top), another one is 1/3 smaller. And one of the lady staff (the one with green/yellow highlights) with bad service and rude.

I think the check in process was very easy and their locker was free.

Good location on easy route from train station, walkable. Windows open which is a nice place. Good onsen, and breakfast buffet worth paying the extra on room fee (say $15). If you park, buy a 24 hr coupon at the desk at the point when you are leaving.

New hotel - decent room sizes - close to castle park and other tourist places -.15 min walk from JR station -many buses available.

Best was the receptionist! A young and very professional gentleman that helped us with everything along our stay, he normally works in Kyoto but came for a week to the hotel in kanazawa. Hope to see you at the hotel insomnia KYOTO next time we pass through. Highly recommend this hotel! Some weights at the gym would have been the cherry on top of the cake :)

Nice hard bed, friendly staff. Close to castle and garden , but 20 minutes walk from station.

The Square hotel Kanazawa was our favourite hotel in Japan so far. 15 minutes walk from Kanazawa Starion and in a great location for our short stay in Kanazawa (we now wish we had booked longer). We walked everywhere, including to the old Samurai district. 3 single beds, 2 were on a platform so that added a bit of Japanese authenticity (a bit). Lovely staff, public bath had tatto restrictions but that’s ok, room bath was really good. I will stay here again when I come back.
