White Rocks Hotel Kefalonia

Excellent hotel with some of the most friendly and helpful staff you could wish for. Location is fab, views are stunning and the food is first rate. Super easy transfer and a great base to explore the capital or the whole island if you wish. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly return. If I could make one suggestion, the orange juice at breakfast is not the best and could do with an upgrade (as you can, I'm picking hairs!) Strongly recommended!

A beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and worked very hard. However, mealtimes were somewhat chaotic, no complaints about staff, just needed some better organisation. The main course at dinner was very disappointing and prices at beach bar were more than double those in village.

We re visited the white rocks for about the 15th time and it retains its charm , perfect setting fresh clean and quiet , staff make it one of the best warm friendly people and a lot of young new staff studying whilst working to name a few Sarah smiley , Alexia lips 😘 , Nicos nice , Christopher organised , Liv good server , Gerry the cocktail kid ,Gerry old hand , Silvia friendly , Anna good dancer , and Walter Travolta from Behind bar to name a few , our maid 3rd floor mint reception staff professional and one of the mentors Sevilla lovely lady , it’s easy to moan or complain as some do for no reason but this hotel goes the extra mile to do good . Please open gate to steps to Corner bar save a long set of steps to walk back up a big hill ! And maybe at least serve drinks in reception like days of old as it’s more comfy for older guests after dinner which I must say if anyone complains about the food best thing to do is stay at home and winj about something else , as we discussed with Sevilla one day yes things change , times and styles change but the White Rocks team does a great job and we will definitely return until we no longer can

We visited this hotel 2 years ago and had a great time so thought we would return and try the rooms with a private infinity pool. We were not disappointed. The room was just lovely and the sun seemed to shine on the deck and pool all day - the retracting sun shade on the deck area came in very handy in the afternoon. During our entire stay we only ever encountered staff that were smiling, friendly and very pleasant, this is very unusual in our experience. The customer service throughout the hotel, from reception, to restaurant, snack bar, evening bar team (particularly Livia), and cleaning and maintenance staff were all exceptionally warm and friendly. In our experience this is rare so kudos to all of the team for consistently achieving this. We were half board and the food was always varied, plentiful and of a great quality. The Nespresso machines that were used in the morning by many of the guests at breakfast, which were a new addition since our last trip, always provided great entertainment -(the staff member who was on hand every day to help guests navigate the various options on the machine deserves a medal). In particular my husband enjoyed the desserts in the restaurant in the evening, something that he remembered from our previous trip, and thankfully they were still great (both variation and portion size). We enjoyed our trip immensely, the proximity to Lassi and Argostoli make it ideal for a little exploration in the immediate vicinity. We will be highly likely to return, something that we don't often do, but the location, friendly service and great facilities all add up to a place that remains on our top spots to visit. Arrival was smooth, with a drop off ten minutes from the airport, which obviously means there is aircraft noise throughout the day at the hotel. We had a sea view which meant that we were close to the public beach which was noisy until around 2am especially at the weekend. The room service was hit and miss, twice during our week stay our room wasn’t made up, and we were blamed for having our “ do not disturb “ on , we didn’t have it on! The air con didn’t work, but they stated it did!!! It was bloody hot! The buffet restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. The pool beds were the most comfortable we have ever used and we never struggled to find one. Bring water shoes if you plan on using the sea beach close to the hotel, it’s quite rocky going into the sea. Walk to the public beach with the fixed brollies ten minutes away, the bar is great, cheap snacks, cheap beer and good music if you want that vibe. Car hire is ok, 50 euros a day at the hire shop ten minutes walk away. All in all, a very relaxing stay, entertainment twice during our stay, some of the bars never opened, but we were early in the season. Great views from our sea view room, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I loved the hotel, the room ,the views and the location . The staff is very kind and friendly (except one or two members at the restaurant) . There is a private beach (small one) with free sunbeds and umbrellas ,and two sandy beaches very close to the hotel. The hotel is really beautiful and the gardens are very nice. It was a very nice week. The buffet was good . I had Half board .

We booked B& B directly with the hotel and had a sea view bungalow. Lovely room with a huge balcony, comfortable plush sun beds and parasol, table and 2 chairs. Room split level with window to bathroom on upper level. No blind on this so morning light flooded in, waking earlier than perhaps were used to in holiday!! Breakfast a little disappointing - no individually made omelettes? fruit juices more like cordial and queues at the coffee machine HUGE! Replenishing of crockery and food items a bit haphazard and we got the impression many of the staff needed further training. There appeared to be manager present but didn’t approach guests which we found very strange? I actually approached him on a couple of occasions with suggestions on layout as I was worn out trying to find items which are normally placed adjacent to each other!! Eg milk and milk jugs for us tea drinkers. Good that most were acted upon! Visited a la carte restaurant once, but a little disappointed with quality and price. Beach bar great service though a little expensive. Hotel very clean and well maintained grounds. Pool not heated so didn’t venture in !! Only small beach area so beds were soon full. Staff all friendly and helpful. Lots of tavernas in Lassi and beautiful beaches close by with a 15 minute bus to Argostoli - or 8 euro taxi ride. Walking into Lassi from hotel uses path through the grounds and on the road for latter part. However in darkness we didn’t feel safe to walk back so 4 - 5 euro taxi.

Superb! My husband and I stayed here 16th-26th May 2024 and absolutlely loved it. Fantastic views, location, facilities and staff, and spotlessly clean. Definitely book a sea view room as the views are amazing. Unfortunately we didn't and were unable to upgrade when we got there as the hotel was full. George and the other staff on reception were so helpful and the smiliest member of staff award has to go to the lovely Alexia in the restaurant. We have already booked again for next year, this time with a sea view, and can't wait to return.

Booked a week in May at White Rocks in a seaview bungalow. Views were lovely but bungalow was a long distance from the main hotel & restaurant etc. Pool area and sun decks were lovely. Deck chairs/couches were really comfy. Private beach is beautiful, a bit rocky but sea is clear and calm when we visited. Our son fished from the island opposite the hotel and caught a few. Rooms were clean. Reception staff were great, very attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Dinner was Ok but not a lot of traditional Greek food. All staff were helpful and friendly. The Dine-around option we found out by accident, it would be good if it had been explained on arrival. Also no one explained about towels in room as it wasn’t clear where to get them from. The hotel weren’t tight on the beach towels, though and replaced them daily. Ideas for improving hotel: entertainment in evening at least 3 times per week. Serve more Greek food. Use ant powder in the rooms as they are everywhere. What White Rocks does well: friendly, attentive staff, Great fitness room. Yoga was excellent but should be daily or every 2 days, run by Stephanie who is great. Sunbeds, beach, waiter service and Lungomare restaurant are excellent. This is a well-run hotel and I would definitely recommend. Kefalonia is a wonderful island and although White Rocks is a little way out of Lassi (About 10 mins walk), it is definitely worth a visit!
