What a gem! I booked a cottage with an hot tub for an extra treat, the beginning of April for a birthday treat for my partner and myself. The room was amazing, very clean and well appointed, when making the book I mentioned it was our birthdays and housekeeping added a couple of extra treats to make us feel special, petals on the bed etc. There was a wonderful choice across the menus for all tastes and dietary requirements. Very good value and quality, food and service was superb, breakfast was excellent!! The location was good for getting to explore the area.

The staff are so very welcoming and laid back. the food is out of this world! Myself and my partner went for a night away just the 2 of us as a couple and I can honestly say I would highly recommend this place as a beautiful hidden gem! My partner said he enjoyed the best burger from the extensive beautiful menu that he had ever tried in 47 years!! The most beautiful surroundings and we had the pleasure of seeing baby ducklings on our doorstep! This place is a real gem! The food is 10/10. the best food ever! we shall be visiting again. our room was just gorgeous and so extremely clean!

Booked lodge 11 for a girly weekend & we were all very impressed. Lovely quiet location overlooking the lake. Hut tub was nice & kept private by nearby trees. Lovely facilities provided inside the lodge itself. Friendly hosts & breakfast in the main house was very reasonably priced for a final morning treat before the journey home. Great location to explore North Devon from.

We had a fabulous stay here. Stayed in the main house about 5 years ago but opted for a one bedroom cottage with hot tub this time and extremely glad we did as after a beautiful dinner we came back and relaxed under the moon and stars in it for a good half hour which was very relaxing and would us down nicely for a good nights sleep. The cottage is clean, comfortable, modern and incredibly well equipped. For dinner we had the chateaubriand for two which was as good as any we have had anywhere, staff in restaurant are super friendly without being intrusive. A couple of ******* would be that when we stayed some inconsiderate guests in another cottage close by felt it was acceptable to play loud music during the afternoon which ruined the experience of sitting outside in the sun reading and the check in and check out times are a bit mean with check in at 16.00 and check out at 10.00 although we did manage to negotiate check in at 14.00 for an extra £20. Overall a lovely stay in sublime surroundings minus DJ Tiesto smashing out the afternoon bars. Will definitely return here for a long weekend next year.

When we booked a short stay at Kentisbury Grange Hotel we weren't entirely sure what to expect. However, our experience exceeded all expectations. The friendly and considerate staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We decided to upgrade to an executive room, and it was a fantastic choice. The room was not only very comfortable but also well-appointed. The highlight was the freestanding bath with separate walk-in shower—a luxurious touch that added to our relaxation. The spaciousness of the room allowed us to unwind and enjoy our stay. In the morning, we were pleased to find a good selection of espresso and instant coffee and tea in the room, along with fresh milk provided in the fridge. well-stocked mini-bar was a pleasant surprise, as such amenities are becoming increasingly rare. While the hotel is tucked away in this often overlooked part of Devon, it offers a calm and peaceful retreat. Yet, it remains accessible to numerous local attractions that are must-sees when exploring North Devon. We left with a sense of contentment, and we're already planning our return. Kentisbury Grange Hotel truly is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

When we arrived, we were a bit early but the lovely member of staff seemed to always want to ensure we were satisfied. We chatted away with a smiley and polite barmaid and enjoyed a drink, she gave us some pointers as for where to visit and which way the beach was! We were shown to our cabin and were greeted by a massive bed, beautiful bathtub and big spacious shower area. We were both very happy and couldn't have expected anything more from a cabin, it was beautifully designed and we could have quite easily lived there, especially if we got to eat food like that every night. The restaurant was also designed really nicely and the tables had a decent amount of space between them, so there was no risk of being within earshot of other couples etc. The staff were tentative and professional. I'm not a great cook, all the more reason why I've tasted food at a lot of resteraunts, but this is up there. I had a steak... obviously. It was done to perfection. Way too often I ask for a rare steak and it's just not done right, but this was spot on, couldn't fault it. My partner had the chicken which she also could not fault. I rarely have room for pudding but we saw another table being served sticky toffee and that was enough persuasion. Once again, delicious. We then spent the evening with a glass of wine in the hot tub. All in all, we had a lovely time. Beautiful accommodation in a beautiful setting and we've already agreed that we'd like to try and go back once a year if we can.

Had a lovely stay in the hotel and dinner at the Coach House restaurant. The staff couldn’t be more friendly and seemed happy to help. The beautiful country house is situated on scenic grounds and there are a number of exciting walks nearby. We finished off our weekend with a hearty Sunday roast that left us feeling warm and satisfied after a relaxing weekend away.

This USED to be one of the best boutique hotels in North Devon with a superb restaurant. Sadly that is no longer the case, it is indeed a shadow of its former self. We discussed our disappointment on checking out and the staff member told us they are trying to get the place back to its best, they have a long way to go! The finer details that made it our 'go to' in Devon are now being missed and although the staff were fine the place seems 'rudderless' and in desperate need of direction. Great shame!

We stayed at kentisbury grange hotel in march this year for my fiancé . We stayed in a lodge with a hot tub and an excellent stay. The lodge was very clean and tidy upon arrival and lovely and warm. The hot tub was perfect and tucked privately on the side of the lodge. The staff were warm and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help and make us feel welcome and had great knowledge of the surrounding area and where was great to visit for the time of year. We had a lovely evening meal in there beautiful restaurant and a great breakfast also Me and my fiancé will definitely be returning Gavin Robertson
