Koh YAO Yai Hillside Resort

I loved it here and would go back tomorrow. I stayed as a solo female traveller and I felt really welcome and completely safe. Great room, the bathroom is a dream! The pool is amazing, I spent hours in it just chilling and looking out over the beautiful view. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great. Food in the restaurant is tasty and good value. A nice café is a 5 minute walk away if you fancy something different and there's also a little shop for snacks, beers etc. Only downside really is that it's not close to a decent beach with sea that's suitable for swimming. Easily resolved with a scooter or taxi. I hired a taxi driver for the day who took me around the island for £30.

This resort does not disappoint! From the moment of arrival to leaving our stay was outstanding! This is our second stay at this resort and personally we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The cleanliness of our room and our pool were second to none! Thank you to the whole team for another awesome 5 night stay!!!

What an absolute gem of a resort. The staff were amazing and super friendly. The room well simply gorgeous. It was well equipped. They even have mosquito repellent candles and a plug in mosquito device. You do have to ask for a lighter, as they don’t leave one in the room, which is understandable if children were going to be about! We had an outside shower which was great so was accessible from pool and bedroom. The pool was clean and so pleasant. The view was lovely. The island is a Muslim island so alcohol can only be bought from the local stores (not 7/11) or from the hotels. We ate our meals there for 4 nights and it was fine. The staff helped organise our onward travel I.e. taxi to pier, speedboat ticket and onward travel to our next resort. Super efficient. The only negative is that the internet was slow. We would love to return.

Lovely Resort! The staff are so kind and accommodating! You can rent a scooter from the resort , so cheap and explore the island. Breakfast was included and average but yummy! The dining options for lunch and supper are Thai and western, very good! Nice clean rooms and if you get a room without an attached pool you can use the pool at the resort on the beach down below! Great views!
