Too...too...expensive (blame my own poverty 🤦), the view from the room is nice. Maybe because it is in the center of New York, the hotel lobby and public spaces are quite cramped.

The room is small but the facilities are very new. I overslept because of jet lag during breakfast. The chelesa community is very good. It is considered cost-effective in Manhattan. The room can see the Empire State Building.

The room is very small, the sanitation is not good, there are few elevators in the building, and it takes 20 minutes to wait for the elevator to go downstairs.

The hotel is very clean and neat, the location is great. The rooms are well decorated and modern but it’s too small and there is no privacy from the washroom. There are 2 issues: First is the elevator that takes almost 20 minutes to come and we had to take the stairs from the 22nd floor! Second issue is the breakfast… extremely busy and you have to wait over 30 min to get a table! There were no dishes, no food after less than 1 hour serving breakfast.

Location is great. Rooms are cleaned daily, big comfy beds and good showers. Breakfast is chaos and felt more like a hostel. not enough tables for guests so you either have to arrive very early, queue or take your food to your room. On top of this there wasn’t enough cutlery or plates/bowls so plastic ones were being used. So much unnecessary waste and just made the whole experience pretty unpleasant. Shame because the food isn’t bad - good enough to see you through the morning but nothing to get excited about. There are also only 4 lifts for rooms over 35 floors so they take forever!

Second visit was not as good as our visit at Chris**as. Elevators are inadequate for numbers being served but they were better on our Chris**as visit than they were this time. We had to wait 20 minutes this time. Also breakfast this time had many shortages compared to our Chris**as visit. Great view but higher floor this time which we selected may have contributed to the elevator issue.Disappointing visit!

The view from the room we booked was amazing and the best part of the hotel. We booked a room with a double sofa bed as I was staying with my daughter. The pull out bed didn't have bedding, this was requested and only part came. When I chased this up in the evening after our first day out, the staff told me they didn’t have any bedding for me and there’s nothing they can do. So the first night in the hotel we weren’t able to use the second bed due to insufficient bedding. We were told I will receive a 15% discount which has not been received. The 2 ladies on reception the following morning were very helpful and I can only wish I had spoken with them the evening before. They did apologise and upgraded us to a room with 2 double beds and a better view than we had originally. The elevators here are a joke, it is close to impossible to get one within 10 mins of pressing the button in the morning. The breakfast is terrible, we opted for a hotel with breakfast to save on cost, we decided to eat breakfast out after the first morning. There was a fire alarm on the first night (unpredictable) but there was no control of the residents during this time or when reentering the hotel. If infact this was an actual fire, people would most likely have been severely injured by the crowds and lack of control from staff. DO NOT use their bus shuttle service, we nearly had multiple accidents with his erratic driving and this is not an exaggeration. Again, the females on desk were great!

Only improvement would be improved accessibility for individuals with disabilities. Such as automatic doors

Hyatt Place was in a great location for exploring with multiple subway stations within block radius and close-by the MSG and Penn Station hub. Staff was friend, room was clean and breakfast was great for free continental! And the view from our room on the 44th floor was amazing! Would stay again!

Conveniently located in Manhattan and near the subway stations that can take you around to many tourist attractions in NYC. The Hyatt Place New York/ Chelsea was booked for my 5-day vacation, with a city view, which is exactly what I got when checking in. It’s an awesome view of the Empire State Building, SUMMIT One and even the Edge Observation Deck in Hudson Yards. You can even see Times Square when walking north on 7th Ave. Some things to note about is that there can be a long wait for the 4 elevators: the longest time I had to wait was maybe 10-15 mins to get downstairs to the lobby. Breakfast was “ok”. I went down when it specified the least busiest times, which was 6:30am, but it was packed. Plumbing was also an issue for me for the sink and toilet. The thermostat seemed to not work either cause I was freezing most of the time. One of the things I would also caution to guests is to check the ratings for the third-party shuttle services Hyatt offers. I unfortunately didn’t, and I regret it. The shuttle was 30 mins late, and already full, they ended up shoving my luggage and I had to sit in the front passenger seat—which was very uncomfortable and the driving maneuvers were dangerous, in my opinion. On the positive side: housekeeping was done really well, and I was always given a fresh set of towels and my bed was always made up by the time I’d return back in the afternoons.
