Summer Guesthouse & Hostel Reviews

We started in a private room in the hostel and it was great! The room was large and the air conditioning worked well. There was a desk and a lovely little balcony with a table and chairs. A safe in the room and the internet worked well. The room and bathroom was very clean and it had a large size refrigerator. The hostel staff were very friendly and had English people working there. After 11 pm it was very quiet! No noise keeping you up! Across the road is a large supermarket and it’s a short walk to the beach where there are some nice restaurants

Quite far from the beach, you have to walk uphill. With children, it’s a little difficult to walk uphill in the heat. There is a supermarket opposite. There are a couple of good cafes nearby. The room has a very small balcony, on which there is a table and 2 armchairs, as well as an air conditioning unit, so it is hot to sit when the air conditioning is on. The bathroom is very small.

Great helpful staff, easy to talk to and we’re happy to sort things out for us. The rooms were good for the price and the beds were comfy. The location was percent as well a short walk or drive to the centre. They rent out bikes there as well for a really reasonable price

Super lovely staff, safe premesis and close to the town and the beach (10min walk). Nicely outside of the crazy nightlife area but within walking distance easily. Supermarket across the road, biek rental on the property and the office staff both Thai and western were super friendly and helpful, had answers as soon as we had questions! Bed was comfortable and the showers were hot :)

Great location, beach is a couple minutes walk away, staff are super helpful + responsive via text + through instagram, very affordable for a private room & would definitely recommend! Had an emergency in the middle of the night & staff came to help, couldn’t ask for anything more.

Nice place, clean rooms, 24/7 open Supermarket right across, good place to both socialize and relax. The town and beach was a little walk away from the hostel. Scooter rental was cheap. Close to the hostel is an amazing yoga studio, that I loved

The private room was clean, the bed was massive, the shower was hot, aircon worked really well and I appreciated the little balcony! You can borrow a helmet for free and snorkelling masks. They provided a handy link to advice around the island, its not super detailed but a good starting point. Summer Cafe next door is a lovely place to relax. It's a 10 min walk to Sairee Beach, and you go past great food spots, like 995 duck and near to LivingJuices Yoga (best smoothie bowls). The rooftop terrace never had anyone on it, there are some tables and chairs and is a perfect spot to have some quiet time. 4 out of 5 stars because the kitchen area is tiny, not particularly clean, and the shower handle and towel rail were broken in my room. A friend and I both stayed (1 private room, 1 dorm) and neither found Summer super sociable, but it's a good base to explore Sairee and meet people on the Hostelworld app.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Katie was great to deal with, organisinf transport from the pier to the hostel the day we arrived. The room was large and very comfortable. There was a lovely atmosphere in the hostel and the Summer Cafe right next door does great food! We booked 2 tours through the hostel and both were great! I'd highly recommend staying here!

I recommend staying here the staff are really helpful and nice they helped me extend my visa and made it a really easy experience, the rooms are nice and have a nice common ground where you get to meet new people and chill and its the right distance from the center so you can sleep good at night but still be in the party scene

The best hostel experience ever. This stands even though there is no pool or garden. What you have instead are people who stay every year to escape the western winter, or westerners living and working on the island coming to the social area, bringing the fun in. Lots of fun. Still it is not a party hostel, after 11pm it is quiet. The girls in the reception are just perfect, I loved them all. Katie is an asset. ＜3 All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone staying on Koh Tao for the full island experience.

I travel Solo and the hostel was great and not expensive! I stayed for a week and slept in a room with 5 other people. If I had questions about anything they helped me. Everyone was very friendly. For example I wanted to get a visa extension, they helped me and told me what I needed before I went to the embassy. Also the day before I left they send me a message if I needed a taxi to the ferry. They are very helpful. The location is also great! There is a 24/7 supermarket across the street and a gym. And next door is a cafe where you can have breakfast.

Awesome Service, solid dorm rooms. They even took their time to send some items via Package to a different location which Ive forgotten to take with me. The communication was great and beyond what I‘ve expected.

Great service and delicious cafe. Animal friendly with young kittens, wonderful humane experience. Nicky also booked our boat tickets, and transfer from the pier. It took me 5 minutes to organise the trip. Thanks a lot! We’ve been twice and will be back for sure ☺️🌸

The people working here were very kind and helpful. I could literally ask them anything. Furthermore, they can provide you with a wealth of information about dining, adventures, and other aspects of the island. and it was always enjoyable!
