Before visiting Sovereign Beach I as most people do I read the reviews.. some were slightly off putting but thank goodness I went with my gut feeling! I don’t know how anyone can leave anything less than a 5 star review for this hotel. I traveled with my parents and my 13 year old son. My parents had the most beautiful room with a shared pool outside. This is shared between 4 terraced rooms. The rooms have their own private terrace with sun loungers away from the main pool. The main pool is salt regulated so no awful strong smell of chlorine stinging your eyes. My son and I stayed on the first floor of the main building which again the room was perfect with a view over the sea. The cleaners visited our room everyday and left the rooms immaculate! The actual complex grounds have gardeners working flat out all day keeping the area pristine. The gardens are stunning! The animation team had a schedule of entertainment from 10am till after 10pm in the evening. During the day they ran exercise classes in and out of the pool, games, kids club and not to mention the 3.45pm communal water polo game. Even the life guard jumped in the pool to join in daily. Such fun to watch. On an evening there is an amphitheatre which hosts a kids disco 8.30 till 9.15pm followed by entertainment of the evening. We watched acrobats, singers and Greek dancers. There are ample sun loungers around the pool with no need to get up early to put towels down (however this didn’t stop people who were particular about where they wanted to be). The food is in abundance! Every meal there was something for everyone. There is a fresh pasta, carvery and handmade pizza chef every night. There is also the pool bar which make fresh sweet and savoury crepes all day and also the beach taverna open all day with hotdogs, burgers, gyros and souvlaki till 6pm. Each evening was a themed dinner. We experienced Mediterranean, Mexican, food from around the world, Asian, and Greek themed evenings. The drinks that are available are branded fizzy drinks, fresh juices, beer, wine and a huge list of excellent cocktails. Also some mocktails. There is a list of trips and bus times at reception. On Monday my son and I went to the water-sports hut on the beach. We gave the man a call who immediately arranged a boat to collect us to take us around the coast where we had the choice of lots of water sports. We chose the jet skis. This is run by a really friendly lady from Nottingham. The beach is not much to write home about and is quite stony on the way in but the sea is beautiful and clear. I could go on and on about how much of an amazing holiday we have just had.. so much so I will 100% be visiting next year. Thank you so much Sovereign Beach.. until next year! 🙂
