Gaya Centre Hotel

The room was simple and clean, and although the decor was a bit old-fashioned, the location was excellent. However, rooms facing the street were indeed quite noisy. It's very close to the pier, directly opposite a large shopping mall, and right next to Gaya Street... super convenient for everything.

Every time I visit Kota Kinabalu for a business trip, I choose Gaya Centre Hotel. The staff are very welcoming, and the bellhop helps with luggage. The hotel facilities are excellent, and the staff are friendly. This is my fourth time booking this hotel, and it's really great.

The beach is very close by and it's truly beautiful! The hotel facilities are also very complete.

The room was filthy and messy, the lighting was uncomfortable, and there were many mosquitoes. The sheets were dirty and had bugs. Staff directly sprayed insecticide in the middle of the night. Plus, the air conditioning only went down to 25 degrees Celsius, making it hot. The kettle was made of plastic and very poor quality. Do not stay here. And Trip.com's service is terrible; Ctrip had lower prices. Don't book rooms on Trip.com; they don't really handle problems. Seriously, don't book through Trip.com. I've been using them for years, and this year their overall service has been rubbish.

This is a standard hotel with a doorman who helps open doors and carry luggage. The front desk staff are very welcoming. Check-in starts at 2:00 PM; early check-in incurs a half-day room charge. Across the street is a shopping mall with a McDonald's on the first floor, open until 2:00 AM, making dining very convenient. The mall also has many shopping and dining options. There's also an affordable large supermarket nearby. The beach is just a 2-minute walk away, which is incredibly convenient.
