Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort

On the first day, I specifically requested a room that wasn't dark and damp, but they still gave us a ground floor room. They claimed it was a complimentary upgrade to a family room with two extra beds, but it was completely different from the room type we booked. We had reserved a room with one large bed and bunk beds. While exploring the hotel, I noticed that all the rooms of the type we booked were sun-facing, yet we were given a non-sun-facing, very damp room with a moldy smell. Our complaints and attempts to communicate were unsuccessful, so we reluctantly stayed for three days. It felt like there was national discrimination; they were very unfriendly towards Chinese guests. A truly disappointing Sofitel stay.

The accommodation is clean, the staff are lovely, and the food and drinks at the restaurant are delicious. There are also activities to do, so you won't get bored if you don't want to leave the hotel. Plus, the hotel is right on the beach, making it convenient to walk there.

Out of the four cities in three Southeast Asian countries we visited, this hotel was by far the most satisfying. We booked two standard rooms, and they upgraded us directly to sea-view rooms. Although they were partial sea views, they were still excellent. Seeing that we had a child with us, they even gave us a room with an extra-large bed, and the child's breakfast was complimentary. The only minor complaint is that some of the power outlets in the room were a bit old and loose. For the bedside outlet, we had to move the nightstand to access it. However, these are minor issues, and it doesn't detract from the overall experience. Highly recommended!

An incredibly smart choice, we loved this French-style hotel with huge gardens! The twin beds were super big and comfortable, and the room hygiene was spot-on – truly five-star worthy! It's worth mentioning that the Italian restaurant, both service and dishes, was top-notch; we enjoyed it so much we went twice. The White Lotus Thai restaurant was also delicious, and the service was very attentive! The hotel pool is massive, really fun, and great for families with kids! Every staff member we encountered had excellent service awareness and was very nice! It's only about a 20-minute drive to the meeting point for island-hopping in the morning, which is totally acceptable and very convenient. There's also a 7-Eleven within a 10-minute walk, so it's easy to grab drinks and snacks. All in all, our whole family loved it, a truly memorable hotel experience!

The staff provided excellent service and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed. However, the downside was that I could constantly hear noise from the neighboring room – things being dragged, tables moving, and people walking around – which made it difficult to sleep. The swimming pool was large. If you want to play a round of golf, the green fee for Thai citizens is 500 baht per person. In the evening, you can enjoy a sunset view, but the beach isn't particularly attractive.

Meng Beach was wonderfully uncrowded and relaxing, and there's a 7-Eleven nearby. However, the service really fell short. We bought a package with two meals. The Maya restaurant was decent, but the Indian and Italian restaurants wouldn't let us bring in our own water and constantly pushed us to buy drinks. A single bottle of water cost over 300 Thai Baht! The service at the Indian restaurant was particularly bad; they even forgot to bring out all of the kids' dishes. Our 'please clean room' sign was out all morning, but no one came. When I requested a bathrobe in the evening, the one they brought was still dirty.
