Good Service, but a Terrifying Experience with Four Dogs
I stayed at this hotel for a week. Overall, the hotel provided good service, and the staff genuinely tried their best to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. They were helpful and accommodating, even assisting me with arranging a bus. I appreciated their kindness and efforts.
Unfortunately, my stay was overshadowed by a terrifying incident involving four dogs that were regularly present on the hotel premises.
While I was walking towards the hotel's viewpoint, all four dogs suddenly ran towards me barking. They surrounded me and jumped at me from all directions, seemingly trying to reach my face and throat.
I had to swing my umbrella desperately and forcefully to protect myself and keep the dogs away. I did not manage to hit any of them, but the umbrella eventually broke from the force of my swinging. The attack lasted more than a minute, but in those terrifying moments, it felt like an eternity. I also injured my hand, which is still painful. Fortunately, I managed to escape without being bitten.
What made the situation even more disturbing was that a member of hotel staff was only about 50–60 metres away and could hear what was happening. However, she approached me only after the dogs had stopped attacking me. I was left to defend myself against four aggressive dogs without immediate assistance.
The hotel's response to the incident was disappointing. I was told that the dogs did not belong to the hotel and that their owner was unknown. The hotel offered me the option of moving to a room closer to reception. While I appreciate the gesture, this does not address the underlying safety concern. Guests should be able to walk around the hotel premises and access its viewpoint without fearing an attack.
Regardless of who owns the dogs, this incident happened on the hotel premises. I believe the management has a responsibility to take reasonable measures to ensure the safety of its guests.
I was fortunate to have an umbrella with me, but I was still left with an injured hand, a broken umbrella and a deeply frightening memory. The outcome could have been much worse.
Despite this frightening experience, I want to acknowledge the kindness and helpfulness of the hotel staff throughout my stay. They made genuine efforts to assist me and ensure I was comfortable, and I am grateful for that.
It is unfortunate that an otherwise pleasant stay was overshadowed by such a serious safety incident. I sincerely hope the management takes effective action to address the problem so that future guests can enjoy the hotel's hospitality without having to worry about their safety.
