Recommended stay in Kyoto. Hotel is located one train station away from Kyoto station and the nearest station is about 10 mins walk from Exit 1.
There were multiple food options nearby and it is walkable to the main shopping district as well (15-20 mins walk).
Room is also clean and basic amenities were all provided.

Terrible service. The bed was as hard as a rock. When asked if they had anything to resolve this, the answer was a simple no. Not even a blanket to soften it could be shared. If I would still have been able to cancel the rest of our stay, I would have, but sadly that was not an option. With all the sleeping options in Kyoto, I would recommend you go and sleep somewhere else.

The hotel was clean and spacious, especially as a solo traveler. Public transport was in convenient walking range (5-10 minutes).
If you don't mind walking a bit, you can also easily reach Gion in around 20 minutes by walking on the peaceful path along the river.
The breakfast was fantastic! It was traditional Japanese breakfast, but they also offered bread, pastries and cereal if you prefer that.
