The front desk has a ********* guy who speaks Chinese, which is incredibly convenient for Chinese-speaking travelers. The room isn't small; it's perfectly adequate. There's also a children's park nearby where you can go swing, and a convenience store and subway station are both very close, making transportation super convenient. You can even stroll along the Kamo River at night. The only downside is that the self-service washing machine is a bit finicky, but the front desk staff were very helpful in getting it to work, so a big thank you for their service!"

"Read before tou book. As seasoned and well-traveled guests, we rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay fell notably below expectations for a hotel of this category. The service, particularly in the kitchen, lacked both flexibility and hospitality. A very simple request—to add tomato and cheese to an omelette—was declined without even consulting the chef. This level of rigidity is surprising and not aligned with international hospitality standards. Equally disappointing was the decision to charge 30 yen for a basic photocopy. While the amount is negligible, the principle reflects a concerning lack of guest-oriented thinking at this price level. The breakfast offering was underwhelming, with limited variety and insufficient quantity—far from what one would expect from a hotel positioned in this segment. We would strongly caution against booking the Japanese-style rooms. They are exceptionally compact; once we opened two large and two small suitcases, the space became virtually unusable. Although the location is undeniably excellent, the overall experience does not justify the rate. There are far better alternatives in the same price range, particularly for travelers who value service quality and attention to detail."

No airport in Kyoto. Fly into Kansai (KIX) or Osaka Itami (ITM) – both about 1-1.5 hours out. Kansai gets most international flights; Itami is smaller and closer (good for local flights). Take the Haruka Express train to Kyoto Station for speed, or grab a cheaper highway bus.
