We stayed one night at the KOA and rented the caboose for the night. It was a really fun experience. They have done a great job decorating the caboose. The bed was comfortable and the space worked out great for the 4 of us. We checked in right after they closed for the evening and it was so easy. We picked up our check in packet and got right into the caboose with no issues. The staff was friendly and they have a small store with a few essentials in case you need to purchase anything. There's a nice playground for the kids. We would definitely stay here again and recommend our friends to check it out.

the website made it sound like a quaint cabin with a/c, bathroom, wifi. My wife and I got there and discovered, that there was no bathroom in the cabin. YOu had to walk to another building to use the restroom. With her using a cane, and both of us needing the use the restroom multiple times during the night, it was not a practical place for us to stay. We slept on the floor at a relative's house, and got no refund for not using the cabin. The cabin was priced as if it was a nice place. We were sorely disappointed. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Typically I avoid KOAs: they're usually badly located and expensive, but this time I had no choice, and I was pleasantly surprised. The owner/manager of the La Junta KOA couldn't have been nicer and more helpful, and even though the campground was near a highway, noise was NOT an issue. Spaces were large, large enough to have put a second camper in them, allowing some privacy. Too bad I could only stay one night--I'll definitely go back when traveling through again. Thx for a great stay.

I’ve stayed in two different cabins here and they were lovely both times. Very nice property

Problems started at check-in. Although I had made a reservation two weeks (!) earlier via *******, the front desk could not find any record of it. It took a phone call to the owner and discussion of where to move us, since the place we had reserved was full. Two free Keurig coffee cups came with checkin on the first day only. Otherwise we had to buy new ones. There was dried feces on the floor of the bathroom.

We were headed home from Southern California, and needed a place to camp, so we pulled into the local KOA. We were impressed by the welcoming attitude at the front desk. We got a spot for the night that fit our b=needs exactly. It was a great introduction to RV camping!

We stayed one night in the caboose and loved it. They have done a great job finishing out the interior. It was just the two of us, but the unit has a king bed and bunk beds, so could easily sleep 4. It has a free standing air conditioner which worked great. The area is very spacious and they have thought out to have lots of outlets and USB ports. There is a small area with a darling fridge, microwave and Keurig. They supply some plates, coffee cups, glasses and silverware along with a toaster. There is a very large sink which serves as both the kitchen and bathroom sink. There is a very large artificial flower vase that I would get rid of as it takes up valuable counter space. The place is decorated cute enough - you don't need the flowers. There are swinging doors that lead to the bathroom which is quite spacious with a very nice shower. The caboose is extremely comfortable inside. The wifi worked very well, but we weren't smart enough to figure out the TV which is a Roku system I think, and we aren't familiar with it. I'm sure it is great, we just had user error. There is a fairly large patio area on the side of the caboose which we didn't use because it was quite hot out. The front office staff was very friendly. We walked around the grounds and the pool is very nice with a slide for the kids and a play area. There is a 9 hole mini golf, but it needs a bit of TLC. The area that most of the RV's were parked is nice and has two areas that you could grill and sit out at. We would return to the place if the caboose or the small cabin next door was available (we don't have an RV). Brad has done a great job and we look forward to seeing what he does with the Amtrak car!
