Peppers Bluewater Resort

This hotel boasts an excellent location right by Lake Tekapo. Our two-story room was very relaxing, and having a washing machine was incredibly convenient.

The hotel's location is across from a supermarket, but there's an uphill walk. The room was clean and tidy, but the facilities were old. We stayed on the third floor and there's no elevator, which made carrying luggage quite difficult. Plus, the soundproofing in the room wasn't great, so we could hear the wind at night.

Overall, it's pretty good, and the environment is nice. They did give us a sea view room, which was great. Check-in and check-out were both very smooth. However, the facilities could be improved, especially the parking. The parking lot is poorly managed, and sometimes there are no spaces available. Driving around late at night trying to find a spot is very inconvenient, and it's completely dark, so you can't see anything.

I specifically asked Trip.com to contact the hotel beforehand to arrange two beds for us. Not only did they provide two beds, but they also gave us a room with an excellent location. As soon as you open the curtains, you're greeted with stunning views of the snowy mountains and the lake. We weren't placed in a room at the very back either. The room was incredibly clean, the beds were spotless, and the bathroom was spacious with heated floors. The front desk also offered Chinese-speaking service. This is a truly excellent hotel.

There are plenty of room types available, including family rooms, and you can also choose rooms with a kitchen or a view, catering to various budgets. The heated bathroom was a nice touch. It had all the basic amenities, including cooking facilities and utensils. The main advantage was the relative privacy, but the bedroom was extremely small; there wasn't even enough space to open our luggage, so we had to leave it in the common hallway outside. The hotel is actually quite close to the town's dining area; it's just a 5-minute walk if you don't have a car. Besides the cramped room, there were no other major issues.

The hotel facilities are quite comprehensive, especially the kitchen, which has everything, even an open flame. The air conditioning is powerful, so it's not cold at all in winter. The view is decent, with the lake just across the road, making stargazing very convenient.
