Below the hotel is a restaurant and bar, bustling with people coming and going. There are not many rooms above, simple decoration and furniture. Waiters are actually restaurant waiters. The fly in the oin**ent is that the heating and hot water are very slow to come up, and the room is very cold. But the room is really cheap, and you can hear the bells in the distance, which is worth the money.

The room was clean but very cold on arrival. There was a radiator on in the room but it didn’t give out much heat. We had been left a little heater which we used all the time. There was no heating in the bathroom and although the basin toilet and shower were clean the plumbing leading to the toilet had black stains running done it and overall the bathroom just needed a total refit. We left one day early.

The property wasnt very clean and i know its not the properties fault but the people in the next room to ours were so noisy and kids jumping off the beds which must have been on the same side wall as ours as our beds shook everytime. The staff were fabulous though and locals very friendly. Wouldnt stay here again but would pop into the bar for a drink as that was lovely and clean just a shame about the rooms.

On arrival warm friendly greeting shown to room-Basic but clean-Bed very uncomfortable “lumpy mattress”.Shower head broken no heating in bathroom so cold
Given menu for Dinner on evening in pub downstairs -not told to “book a table” so on going down at 19.30pm initially told fully booked by young barmaid/waitress and told to try elsewhere.Sorted by manager and table found within 10mins-Food was excellent -Highly recommend eating there-Staying overnight-Not so much -Tired and needs major re-furb

Unfortunately I didn’t really have the best night due to the room being soo cold, maybe consider just putting the heating on for a little bit on a timer for through the night due to it being such a cold night last night
Other than that it was a lovely little place to stay staff were excellent and very pleasant

We had a lovely nights stay at the tavern, we arrived after staff had left so the owner kindly came all the way out to accomodate us and she was super friendly and inviting.
Quiet nights sleep with easy parking out front of the hotel. The only downside was the shower, screen was not very secure so water went all over the bathroom floor. Other than this it was a pleasant stay.

The room was not great …. Carpet didn’t look clean, mould in the bathroom, TV volume didn’t work. Central heating didn’t work although an electric fan heater was provided (not safe to use when sleeping)
