Casas da Baixa - Lighthouse Apartments

The apar**ent is ok with nice light conditions and a nice location. But it was very basic. The kitchen was not inviting, with old kitchen utensils that should have been replaced. The bathroom was damp and a bit disgusting. With a few small changes, this apar**ent could be absolutely superb. A few candlesticks, maybe a potted plant, a rug on the sofa, and a proper living room table. The cleaners were very nice, but they only came once a week. We stayed there for a month. It is ok for a couple of days, but there is so much to choose from in this area and I recommend checking other places if you are going to stay there for a while

Clean spacious apar**ent. Well located in historical centre close to restaurants.

The apar**ent was clean and had all the amenities and the area around the apar**ent had a lot of restaurants and the view from 7th floor was great. The only issue I noticed was the entrance to the apar**ent building wasn't very noticeable and we had to go around the block twice to figure out the entrance.

The location was great, & the best restaurant com certeza! right across the street was wonderful, however the apar**ent left something to be desired. I felt like I was being assaulted by a fire hose in the shower, legitimately a painful experience, & the bed felt like laying on cement so we just slept on the futon sofa which was slightly better. The batteries also died on the in room safe so we couldn’t use that which was disappointing

This place was super clean, sunny with lots of windows, quiet. It is close to everything including the port where we boarded our NCL Getaway cruise (It was three blocks away!) We walked to everything - restaurants (are right outside the door) as well as the port, train stations, and places of interest. There is no reception desk or workers on-site. You are given a code to get in the front door and your apar**ent. There ia a QR code to get instructions on how to operate the TV, A/C, etc.. The unit has a small fridge, 2 burner cook top, microwave, coffee maker with pods provided, pots, plates, etc I will note that the shower drain did not drain vey well however we did not call for service so I am not considering that in my review.

Property was good, spacious, great location. The bed was very uncomfortable.

The property is well kept, and our accommodation was very convenient for a family of 4. I think the property entrance could have a clearer sign (it's a bit difficult to find the door, and we saw other families struggling). Also, be prepared to self-maintain your apar**ent during your stay since there is no service to clean during your stay. Location is excellent, in the center of the city, easy walking distance to all restaurants, bars, and touristic sites.

This apar**ent is more like a hotel than an apar**ent building, All communication is done via Third Party messenger e.g ******* in our case. The problem with this is when you get your entry instructions and you enter your room/apar**ent and it turns out there is already another party already in the room you have noboby to take care of this on the spot. Called customer service, who nonchalantly told us we were given the wrong room instructions as if it was no big deal, no apology for us or the poor couple we walked in on. Check in is not until 4pm, seems late compared to other locations and Family room for four would not really be accurate as the pull out sofa was not much bigger than a twin and our two small kids did not really fit on it. Apar**ent is big and in a good location, well equipped and nice and cold air conditioning. Washer and drier combo was a nice touch. Parking is a nigh**are as this historical area tenders to local residents mainly.

The check in was problematic since I did not pay the city tax in advance and there is no receptionist to let us in the property without a code that is sent after payment. We have to sit in an adjacent cafe to fill the in the travel documents online to be able to pay the tax to get the codes. This is after 8 hours flight! After we were in, the apar**ent was good with few minor issues , for example the safe was locked by the prior guest and we could not get anyone to unlock for us during our stay.
