Storrs Gate House

Well what a gorgeous weekend we have just had. We were welcomed on Friday by Susann, who was so lovely and helpful the whole weekend; giving us tips of places to visit. The room was top floor, lovely and warm and homely with quite possibly the BEST shower on earth. So powerful, i wanted to stay in there for hours! Amazing location with access to walks, ferry and boat trips and close to lots of pubs, restaurants and coffee places. Let’s talk about the breakfast. I dreamt about it last night. We both had the yogurt, fresh fruit and granola to start and then full breakfast for the main course, which was cooked perfectly and so filling. On the second morning I went for the salmon and scrambled eggs on muffin and it was quite literally the most delicious thing I’ve ever put In my mouth. Huge thanks to Glen for cooking it. Also wanted to mention Vicky who works in the morning ; she was so lovely and, again, had lots of helpful tips to share on the local area. A real ‘family’ feel and we will definitely be returning one day.

We loved our stay, hosts were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfy, we stayed in room 4 and the shower was amazing! 10-15mins walk into bowness, ferry crossing over the road and a nice restaurant on the marina so ideal location. On site parking Breakfast was delicious ! Would certainly stay again.

We've holidayed in The Lakes so many times over the years visiting family but this is the first time we've stayed at Storrs Gate House and it will now be our "go to" place. Spotlessly clean and so comfortable and welcoming. Beautifully decorated and the breakfasts are incredibly filling and fresh with a wide selection to choose from. Glenn and Susann are two of the loveliest people you could hope to meet and you can tell that they love what they do.

We stayed over the weekend and felt so welcomed by Susan and Glen from the minute she opened the front door, she showed us round were we would have breakfast and our room so so comfortable with an en suite. Glen made a spot on full.english and their was a choice of cerials or fruit and yoghurt before the main breakfast with a full pot of coffee, pure orange and apple juice. It really is the cutest little guest house with a lovely homely feel, Susan and Glan were amazing hosts and would definitely stay again, intact we was ment to leave Sunday but ended up staying am extra night!

Our first visit to this hotel but it won't be our last. A good location within easy reach of Bowness on Windermere. Lovely hosts. Very approachable and helpful with local knowledge. Excellent breakfast whether you are a vegetarian or a meat eater!

A very warm welcome from Susan and Glen the owners of this pretty B and B. What beautiful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was very spacious and absolutely spotless and the decor beautifully done with little pretty touches. Our four poster bed was extremely comfortable and there was plenty of storage for our stuff. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. The organic natural yogurt was served with fresh fruit and was delicious. Lyn was very friendly and so attentive. Susan and Glen were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about events and the surrounding areas. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a place.

My husband booked this trip as a surprise birthday getaway. We arrived after a long journey on a Friday night and were welcomed warmly. We stayed in room 5 (one of the smallest rooms I believe) but the room was perfectly spacious and the amenities available in the room were fantastic (White Company!). Throughout our stay we were offered advice on what to see and where to eat, which made our stay extra special (even if we did accidentally take the longer walking route!). The breakfasts were impeccable and really set you up for a day walking in the lakes, the bacon was our favourite! Nothing was ever too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome. A fantastic break away from start to finish. Thank you 😊

Just returned from 2 night stay at storrs gate house and must say what a great b&b experience.Susanne and Ken were perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome. Our room was beautiful with no attention to detail spared, the ensuite was very well presented and the-shower was nice and hot. The bed was so comfortable and we had a great nights sleep.The breakfast was extensive with cereals , yogurt and fruit cocktails potted jams with toast followed by a great cooked breakfast, the local produce Cumberland sausage and bacon was delicious.thank you for a wonderful stay I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

What a fantastic little guest house. The owners looked after us to the highest of standards. We had a beautiful room which was well equipped. The local information was second to none, very useful and appreciated. The breakfast was to die for. We will definitely keep this place in our address book for future occasions
