Manta Dive Gili Air Resort
4.3/541 Reviews
This was our second visit to Manta Dive at Gili Air, and we are already booked to go again in six months' time. We stayed at their garden bungalow accommodation and dived every day with them. We're both dive instructors with a lot of diving experience, but are also both past retirement age and appreciated the extra care the boat staff and our dive guide Mul took with us. The air-conditioned accommodation is excellent, with bottles of drinking water in the room, to supplement the drinking water that is freely available in the outdoor reception area. The bed is comfortable, though for our liking the pillows are a little too thick and huge. There is a fridge and a safe and a semi-outdoors bathroom, with plentiful hot water and a laundry service is available. Each bungalow has a private outdoor verandah with a drying rack and seating. Bring mosquito spray for the evenings, as there is a plug-in insect repellant, but they are persistent! For early risers, the 6.30am sunrises over Lombok island are spectacular. We observed many try dives and Open Water and Advanced dive courses being taught by the patient, knowledgeable and relaxed but safety-conscious Manta Dive instructors. Rafi, Ayu and Mariana are only mentioned by name because we did not get the names of a couple of others, who were also exhibiting excellent practice. We don't think we have ever seen such careful attention paid to beginner divers in our 25 years+ diving. Nothing was too much trouble, and we are sure this is why divers of all experience come back time and again to Manta Dive. Last time we visited, we dived with an excellent guide named Opik. Unfortunately he was off sick this time, but our young guide Mul was an equally perceptive, attentive and welcome replacement. He worked for two weeks to ensure that every dive was an unforgettable experience. We saw white-tip sharks, turtles, blubberlip snappers, but even more amazing, considering one of us has fairly poor eyesight, were the seahorses, ****y scorpion fish, leaf fish and nudibranchs that he took infinite care and time to show us. Divers are placed in an experience-appropriate small group with a guide/instructor. Breakfast is included in the accommodation price, with muesli, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee, or cooked alternatives. A simple but varied lunch is also available after the two dives in the morning. We are pushed to think of any negatives, except maybe, as everywhere on Gili Air, you could find a lot of smokers in the outdoor areas of the dive centre - you might want to position yourselves upwind!

Shibui Garden Bungalows and Restaurant
4/55 Reviews
After a long and exhausting business trip decided to drop off the grid to visit my old friend Brett at Shibui Gardens. The perfect antidote turned out to be the bungalows he carved and built with local wood and bamboo, by hand, out of a coconut grove. Ask for the Shibui room. The hand made bed is so comfy and it has AC and TV. Met new travelers every day coming down from Mt. Rinjani after three days climbing. It is like they land in Shangri-La enjoying a hot shower, good nights sleep, good company, and amazing food. Brett makes everything from scratch using freshest ingredients for his ‘Californasian’ fusion food. His cheeseburger on home made bun with fries is unbelievable. Fridge is stocked with cold beer. The hand made pasta and pizzas are becoming a must for post Rinjani refueling. Breakfast chocolate pancakes or eggs to order to send you on your way for North Lombok and Gili Island adventures. PADI 5 star dive shop in walking distance down the beach. If you are looking for a friendly stopover to recharge, come see Brett, Eka and their young son Kaimu at Shibui Gardens.
Anema Wellness & Resort Gili Lombok - Dive Center
4.3/548 Reviews
To accompany his wife to the Longmu test diving certificate, the coach asked to live in the resort where the dive shop is located. From this logical point of view, it was forced to choose at first. It has not been examined and the evaluation is very small, so there is no hope. From the airport to the resort road is very far, the road is not good, but after the arrival of their enthusiasm and service impressed, take the initiative to send a wreath to wear our neck, give a welcome drink - iced juice, instantly improved the good feeling, then the room is amazing Oh, villa with pool! ! The area is also very large, and there is a feeling of honeymoon here. Then I am more happy - the hotel is invincible, private beach, seaside pool, sea swing, romantic candlelight dinner under the mango tree every night, don't mention how romantic. Then the staff was extremely enthusiastic, and the tip was not even collected, which is rare in the Philippines. The last thing that needs to be spit is the high level of catering and other consumption, because there is an additional 21% service charge and tax, a coconut RMB30, Coke Sprite 35, and a single package of two people each about 140-160. Right: Recommend this resort's dive shop, the owner is French, passionate, senior diving instructor, another coach is Singaporean, people are very good, very enthusiastic.

Hotel Tugu Lombok
4.8/547 Reviews
If you like modernity in a hotel, the Tugu is not for you. On the other hand, if you like the charm of old Indonesian furniture, the atypicality of the bathrooms open to the outside, very comfortable bedding, gardens magnificent, sublime swimming pools, a superb beach, this hotel is made for you. The icing on the cake is an incredibly kind staff, a smile always present and daily attentions like pretty bouquets of flowers, fresh fruit put out every day in the room and the delicious free snack every day at 4 p.m. We spent 8 wonderful days in this magical place. A big thank you to all the staff.
