Victoria XiengThong Palace

Steeped in history, Victoria XiengThong Palace is the former residence of Laos' last king. Staying in this century-old teak building evokes a profound sense of 'timelessness'. Even the frangipani tree planted by the queen in 1959 next to the restaurant is still blooming today...

The hotel doesn't have a pool or gym, but it's only a 2-3 minute walk to Pub Street and not far from the Old Market. They offer free airport transfers. Overall, it's pretty good, and the toiletries are L'Occitane!

The hotel offers a free airport pick-up service, and I also took a cooking class which was really fun, from buying the ingredients to preparing the dishes.

Great location and excellent service, especially the quick email responses. They even offer a complimentary almsgiving package, which is a nice touch! The only downside is the lack of a pool and gym [sigh].

The hotel is indeed quite picturesque and the service attitude is excellent. They even filled the pool with water for us in advance. The scent in the room was also very pleasant. However, there were two issues: firstly, there were many mosquitoes in the room, but they provided an electric mosquito swatter, so we didn't get bitten. Secondly, definitely do not opt for the hotel's almsgiving service. The people outside will charge extra for the candy without telling you beforehand. They just hand you the candy to distribute, and then after you've given it out, they ask for money. It ended up costing twenty dollars for two people for this almsgiving, which was a complete rip-off.

Fantastic hotel with a great location right next to Wat Xieng Thong. It's also very close to the main street (walking distance to the night market/walking street) and just a short stroll from the Riversun Laos sunset cruise pier. It's a beautiful, clean, and spacious French-style house with comfortable rooms. All the furniture is made of wood, giving it a high-quality feel. We stayed two nights, and they offered a complimentary drop-off at the airport after check-out, which was a nice touch!
