The location is excellent, just a few meters from the coastal road. The (sportboat) port is only 200 metres away, so you can walk on the sea side to the other end of the place to take the ferry there. The hotel is conducted by two business-made ladies, who made me a stick for a single trip room 140 euros, which was clearly too much. Unfortunately, in open windows, sleep is hardly thought, because in about 30 meters away the freight trains pass, if you have the room to the wrong side. The bathroom was newly made, beautiful tiles and a modern shower. Some things, for example, that the water hanger is too close to the washing venue and you can hardly get the hand below it, you still like the Italian charm what has annoyed me: When I sticked to the door frame, I sticked my shirt to the sealing mass that no longer could be removed from the shirt. Nice and modern hotel in good location with great views over the Lago di Lugano. The staff was professional, experienced and super friendly. Breakfast was always good with plenty of choice. We'll definitely stay again at Grand Hotel Campione!

Positives: - hotel is in an excellent location on the main road over looking the lake and only 5/10 mins into the centre of town - rooms are nice and comfortable, lovely bed, big balcony. Bathroom felt brand new and spotlessly clean - nice, varied breakfasts (I'd suggest adding baked beans but that's a personal thing!) Negatives: - there is an absolutely massive (HUGE) tree out by the pool which basically throws the whole pool area into shade for a large part of the day. It is FAR too big and needs to be trimmed back. On our first day around the pool the sun didn't come out from behind the tree until 12pm and then is lost behind the hotel at 4pm. People were all moving around the pool trying to find a bit of sun. Can't do anything about it going behind the hotel obviously but trimming the tree is a must! - the pool looked like it needed a good clean which is a real shame and I wouldn't expect it of a hotel like this (or indeed even a basic hotel). The water on the first day was really milky and green looking (it did improve slightly) and there is green slime around the walls and stairs (the stairs particularly). - the sunbeds around the pool are SO hard! There's not that many of them so wouldn't be too much to buy some cushions. - didn't feel like there were enough staff in the bar area so they were often unable to provide room service, and then closed at 11pm even when there were customers still in the bar which is a bit strange for a hotel.

Normally I have stayed directly On-The-Go promenade but spontaneous try-super! More quiet and near to everything for those who can walk 5 minutes. We didn’t need parking but we’re pleased to know places are available. Will come back. Next time will possibly try the restaurant-we are so soiled by the choices and didn’t give I t a go this time though. Thanks

We stayed here for 1 night whilst travelling from the UK to Italy. Our stay did not start well unfortunately. We arrived in the middle of some roadworks outside the hotel and in the surrounding area. Coupled with the fact that we had a roofbox on our car, reception suggested that we entered the hotel car park via a different entrance rather than the one a short distance from reception on the hotel grounds. The receptionist wasn't very aware of the roadworks and proceeded to vaguely show me on the map how to get to the other car park entrance. It was clear she did not know and actually told me the wrong way! It took me 25 mins to find the correct route to the car park entrance due to the deviations, roadworks and traffic! Not a great start. Next, I arrived at the room that we had been allocated - I had booked a deluxe room (for 3 people through hotels.com) - this was not a deluxe room, although much bigger it was a ground floor apartment with 2 separate bedrooms with no air conditioning and a lounge a couple of short corridors away from the bedrooms which did have air conditioning! Bearing in mind the daytime temperatures at the time were 33-34 degrees, we were not going to have a good night sleep! Back to reception to complain, initially saying that they did not have any other rooms left however they did eventually offer us a deluxe room with air conditioning that fed nicely into the main bedroom - that is all we wanted and what I had actually booked! They set up a third bed in the room for my daughter, problem solved! Location was very good with excellent views of the lake, a 10-15 mins walk into the centre which was fine for us. Buffet breakfast was excellent, we chose to sit outside on a lovely terrace with lake views. Service was very good. We then used the outside pool facilities and loungers until mid afternoon - again all excellent, clean, lovely pool, and when we left, we were sad that we could only stay for 1 night! In the end the room problems were resolved, the morning receptionists providing us with a free drink in the bar for the inconveniences caused however it could have been avoided if I had been given the room that I had booked from the start and better training should be given to the receptionists so that they know exactly what instructions to give to clients on how to reach the hotel car park. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would.

Very nice and modern rooms recently completely renovated. Stylish, practical and furnished with sense for detail. Minibar in the room with free drinks. There is also a self-service coffee machine and a refrigerator for drinks in the entrance area. You can easily use the drinks to register and pay for at the self-Check-in/out terminal. The concept ”Self Check-in / Check-out works properly. Bravo! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The street is also strongly driving, for more rest it's worth taking a room on the sea side.
