My husband and I traveled to Mackinac Island to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we stayed at The Inn on Mackinac. The Inn was super clean and our room was cozy and it even had a balcony. All the staff was super nice and helpful, and we even received a surprise on the day of our anniversary. They surprised us with delicious fudge and they also helped our family to send us a goodie bag full of delicious things. We liked the beautiful porch and it was very nice that they offer breakfast and there is coffee and tea all day. The Inn is at a great location too. At the same time, it is very quiet and we were able to relax. They also have a little pool-spa, which is very nice to relax. Overall it was a great experience and we hope to go back some other time and stay at the Inn again.

The beautiful hotels don’t even have a bottle of water. The Hilton only had one bottle of mineral water a day for the first two days. You don’t have this at all. You can buy a bottle for $3. If you book for two days, the cleaning on the second day is very sloppy , I almost cleaned up the sheets, the bathroom was not cleaned at all, the external environment is really good, the hotel is too expensive, I suggest you stay in Mackinaw City, and then come directly by boat to play, you can swim with a swimsuit, the water is very clear, and you can play on the island It's all money, just prepare your wallet 😁.

Really enjoyed a quick overnight trip to St. Ignace to visit Mackinac Island. Hotel was clean and offered a nice breakfast spread and evening firepit gathering. We had a lake view balcony and enjoyed a beautiful sunrise looking at the island. This hotel was totally full but did not seem ”busy”. It's a one minute drive to the Shepler's ferry to Mackinac island. The rooms are clean but somewhat dated - I'd say they are competitive with others in the St. Ignace & Mackinaw City area.

Great location! The beach, the staff, and amenities were good. The breakfast included was great, it includes a variety of things and served at the lakeside restaurant located on property. You could also dine at night on certain days but the dinner was not as up to par. I think keeping menus short and simple is great, but I thought the menu was very limited. I wished it featured more of the local foods.

We've gone to the Mackinaw City/Mackinaw Island area for 5 of the last 6 years. We always try to go off-season, so we ended up at this HI Express in St. Ignace this year. First time at this location. We generally don't think much of the hotels in this part of Michigan. They are solely ”tourist” properties, and they seem to be poorly maintained by the hotel owners. Nevertheless they charge over-premium prices and should be doing better. Booked a lake-facing balcony room. On arrival however the hotel switched us to a ground floor ”pet friendly” room I travel with a certified service dog, NOT a pet. This is an ADA violation. Much of the room was filthy. Carpets worn and huge stains on the (from the ”unfriendly pets” previous??). The sofa smelled and couldn't be used. Bathroom was clean and water pressure and hot water adequate. Security lock on the door broken, and the exterior balcony door lock was faulty as well. HI Express breakfast was done very well, with all the proper items available and all the equipment working properly. Hotel would not address the issues with our room claiming they were ”fully booked”. We would not stay here again.

We have been going to this hotel since 2016 and it has just gone down hill!! We had the King bed, studio suite, lake view, hot tub room. First thing we notice was there was no chair for sitting in, as it states it will have. Which means you either sit on the bed to watch TV, which is not very comfortable for someone with back issues, or you take the chair without arms from the desk to sit in. When we asked at the front desk about it they said ”you must have the room that had a chair break”. We asked if they could bring one from another room and they said ”they didn't have any, they had one in the storage shed but the maintenance man needs to put it together”. We ended up bringing in a plastic chair from our patio area. Later, as we're trying to watch a movie, we hear a horrible noice through the wall for several minutes and then it got louder!! We called the front desk and Amanda (I believe was her name) said she'd be down, 20 minutes later she shows up and says ”that's terrible, I don't know what it would be” and then proceeded to say ”what do you want me to do about it?” Really, we're paying good money for this room and we'd like to be able to enjoy it and sleep that night. She said she didn't have any other rooms except the ones upstairs that have wet carpet! She was VERY RUDE and said she'd contact her manager. Well an hour later we don't hear back and the noise is still going on, so we go down to the front desk to see what they were willing to do and again she was very rude and said she notified the manager but hadn't heard back. When we told her that the noise we had in our room was unacceptable, she continued to be extremely rude to us. We told her we wanted to cancel our room for the next night (because we weren't going to stay someplace where we couldn't sleep for 2 nights) and she told us ”you can't do that, it's on the paper you signed”! We told her that we wanted to talk to the manager that night. We never heard from the manager and the next morning when we tried to talk with the manager she wasn't any better. Said she didn't know what we expected her to do. We said we wanted a room we could actually sleep in without a noise so loud we could hear our TV over it and kept us awake. She and the other lady behind the desk goes on to say ”we're booked all summer and never have a complaint.” That is very hard to believe because this noise was extremely loud and one of their own employees witnessed it! They were not willing to cancel & refund our money for the 2nd night and weren't willing to refund any of our money for the first night for the inconvenience. We weren't willing to forfeit our money, for them to just rent the room to someone else and make double the money on it! We were finally able to get them to switch our room for another room, if we would move all our things out by check out time and then come back later. This is the first time we have stayed at this hotel and we loved it. We had a king room and it was so spacious and very clean. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The water pressure in the shower wasnt the best but we find that at most hotels. The room was nice and bright but we were the most suprised at how big it was. And the layout of the room was really nice. We had a fridge and microwave that both worked great. We also liked the fact that it is within walking distance to town. Close to everything. And the shepplers shuttle is right across the road. Its also right across the road from the little grocery store in Mackinaw City. Making the reservation was easy and check in was easy. Everyone at the front desk was very nice. The housekeepers were also very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Such as towels, cups, etc. We were a little unsure about staying here because as I mentioned we havent heard the best things about Baymonts but we would definately stay here again and will recommend it to others. As for the cost, it is about average for a place like Mackinaw City.
