Nice hotel managed by a very interesting German guy. The best part is an amazing Thai restaurant.

Very good place to stay

The room was very spacious and clean. Hotel pick-up and drop-off, the boss Thomas is very nice, the emails are responded to quickly, and will answer all your questions. The hotel style is very Thai. I heard that the first floor is famous for Thai food, but because we went to Thailand the next day, we didn’t have dinner on the first floor. The breakfast was Western style, bread and ham, and the bread was super delicious. ! If you can’t finish the meal, the boss will pack it for you to take away! ! The only regret is that I paid 1,200 RMB first when placing the order on Ctrip, and it showed that I had to pay an additional 52 US dollars at the store. When I checked out at the hotel, I was asked to pay 78 US dollars... After feedback to Ctrip, I was promptly refunded 188 RMB. . Ctrip is still very responsible and considerate!

The room should be considered very clean in Male, and the old reporter is very nice and responsible.

It feels quite close to Male Airport, take a taxi and cross a bridge, then shuttle in the alleys, it takes about 10-15 minutes to arrive. The boss is a German who has lived in the Maldives for more than ten years. Two days before the arrival day, the boss Thomas began to contact us by email, including when we arrived, how much luggage, how many people and so on. After customs clearance on the day of arrival, Thomas' staff has already picked up the guests with a sign at the hotel entrance (free pick-up service is included in my reservation). He greeted us at the door before arriving at his small hotel. Very polite and caring. If there is no problem with your communication needs, the boss Thomas will give you a lot of tips for traveling on the island, such as how much local currency is appropriate to exchange, what local regulations are there, and so on. It is very important that this hotel should be the best Thai restaurant on Male Island. Very authentic thanks to the owner Thomas should have some stories in Thailand, there is no gossip about the specifics. If you eat a meal in person, the boss will recommend and serve you personally. Don't order too much. The next day we went to the resort island. It was a very pleasant day to stay in this hotel on Male Island. It is very convenient to buy swimming goggles, clothes, shoes and other necessary items in the hotel. In Muslim countries, alcohol and tobacco are prohibited, you can ask the boss.

The boss is so bad. In the morning, they called me a taxi and charged me 50 US dollars for a 5-minute journey to the airport. When the driver arrived, he gave me 20 local currency. This old man is so bad. I asked him why it cost $50 to take a taxi to the airport, and he said it was because he could call a taxi. But rentals are everywhere. I read previous reviews that this hotel offers airport pick-up and drop-off, but no one said there is a fee for the 5-minute journey. And there are no prices on his menu, and the service charge is very high. During my 20-day vacation in the Maldives, I was a little surprised by the prices of his dishes and the bill. Don't know why it's so well received.

Better service

If you get lucky to have space in this truly great boutique hotel 6 nicely decorated rooms in Male, you will find out that you are right on top of the best stylish restaurant in town. SALA is a gem in a very difficult town in terms of noise and urbanism. The German owner is a true hospitality master and he will insure that you are well taken care while traniting in and out of your resorts. Forget the rest ..This is heaven in this distressed capital ;)

A designed hotel with an amazing Thai Cuisine and delicious breakfast. Wonderful open air patio, everything made with a very sensitive taste. Clean, comfortable room with A/C. Great service all over. Good location in the center of Male. I can highly recommend.

A real oasis in the mittle of Male. The hotel has a lovely little courtyard where we enjoyed excellent Thaifood. The room was very clean and with a comfortable bed. The owners was very helpful from arranging transportation to serving a very nice breakfast at 6:00, as we needed to catch an early flight. We will be back next time we need a stayover in Male..

Do yourself a favor and fly into Male a day early and spend a night at Thomas and Rose's little Oasis in downtown Male. You'll be whisked right away from the chaos at the airport and sent in a taxi (included in the price) and Thomas will be there waiting for you when you step out. How the two of them have been able to create this lovely little guesthouse (and Thai restaurant) in the midst of the general dilapidation in Male is a great mystery. Between the lovely Thai dinner (extra) and the real German breakfast (included) it's just not to be missed. And as an added extra the ride back to the airport is also included in the price and you'll be able to get an earlier flight to your resort. Go spend a night!
