We stayed in the hotel with all inclusive packages for 14 days. On arrival our rooms were not ready and I have to wait until 4pm to finally get to my room. The rooms are spacious but also in great need of refurbishment The power went off 4 times during our stay and we also have problems with hot water supply and pressure in the shower. The food was good and with plenty of dishes to choose from. The drinks on the other hands were very simple, mostly unavailable even if they were on the menu There was no single cocktail that was prepared correctly due to shortage of ingredients. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The amazing animation team. Nicholas, Edwin. George, Pauline and their evening activities and shows were brilliant. We experienced a change to the poolside bar and restaurant status from all inclusive to chargeable. There was no information regarding this change so we learnt as we went to.get the drinks.

There are few things that went wrong with our stay at this hotel. 1. So we arrived very late at night and the lady that checked us in was not very friendly. We booked a full board service via a travel agency but the she kept insisting that we show her proof of payment and that was confirmed before we even left. 2. After we got over that hurdle the porter (his name is Leslie- bless his heart) took us to our room and points us upstairs and I'm like we specifically asked for a room downstairs for my elderly mother then Leslie (who was very helpful) went back to reception to sort it out but came back to say we can only be moved the following morning. 3. The rooms are decent, big enough but ensure that you bring your own adpater because they use Europen charging plugs, it's 2025 and they don't have USB charging ports, the last time I travelled with a universal adapter was years ago because hotels have USB ports to charge. 4. Sure enough we moved to the room downstairs the following day and Leslie came to help us and apologized for the mishap (no apologies from reception). 5. I asked them at reception that it was mother's birthday and she wrote it down and asked what I wanted written on the cake but nothing happened the whole day, no cake nothing. 6. We were told the drinks in the fridge were complimentary since we were on full board but by the third day the drinks were finished and no one restocked our fridge I asked the reception and they promised it will be sorted but until we checked out our fridge was never restocked. 7. When we woke up on our last day the aircorn in the room did not want to come on, we called reception and they promised to send maintenance but we had to call back after close to 2hrs to check if maintenance was coming or what 8. We left for lunch and later in the afternoon arounnd 16h00 I went to the room to get something, I found that the aircorn was fixed but the room was not cleaned, I just thought they are still busy they will get to our room but we came back around 18h30 and our room was not cleaned. I had to call reception and they said they will inform the cleaning service to come but I had to call them again after 45 minutes to follow up and finally someone came and she just did touch ups there and there no proper cleaning. Okay enough with the negatives. They have 4 restaurants and they all make delicious food. 1. The Terrence restaurant you have to make reservations the food great but they bring in the food too fast, as soon as you finish your starter they bring out the main and as soon as you finish that they bring out dessert the pace is too fast. 2. The Onda restaurant has nice off the menu food with the views of the ocean but on the last day we went there, we were told we will no longer get food there because it's now a cash only service for day pass visitors just like that no warning 3. Savanna restaurant has nice buffet, shout out to Mary the trainer she helped when I needed to charge my phone becaus

Do this was a solo trip I enjoyed the offer pay for two nights and get one night for free ! I was attended to so well since it was inclusive with a lot of entertainment options that made sure I wasn’t bored at all . So one staff stood out for me Pauline from entertainment she made sure I wasn’t bored at engaged and included in all the games and was very accommodating and supportive . I loved my entire trip and hope to come back soon ! Generally I’d rate it a 10 from the food to the service to the interactions with staff .

We stayed at Diamonds Malindi for two weeks and sadly, it fell far short of expectations for a hotel marketed as 5-star. Having travelled extensively, including across Africa, I can say this resort does not meet that standard. Positives first: the location is excellent, the outdoor areas are beautiful, and the Terrace Restaurant was outstanding – both the food and the staff were superb. These were the highlights of our trip. Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives: After our first night, the air conditioning in our room leaked badly, flooding the floor. Despite maintenance being called, it got worse. We were refused access to the manager and offered a child’s room instead. Across the holiday, we were forced to move between three different rooms, and our son had to move between two, which ruined the start of our holiday. Even in the new rooms, maintenance problems continued: air conditioning broke twice, the shower handle came off, the door handle came off, and even the in-room telephone didn’t work. Basic service was poor: towels were often missing, beach towels were never available (staff even told us we “didn’t need them”), and we had to reuse the same towels for five days. Severe shortage of sunbeds: only 4 at the Terrace pool, 10 at the Garden pool, and 12 at the Beach pool. Even by 8am, no beds were available at the beach. Bars were badly run: service ranged from 5–45 minutes, and staff often disappeared. The pool bar rarely had ingredients for the menu, forcing staff to fetch drinks from Jahazi. At Jahazi, staff constantly disappeared into the back. On one evening there were no glasses, so we were served pints of gin & tonic and rum & coke. Coca-Cola was also unavailable at times. Onda Restaurant had a very limited menu (three of the items were pizzas), yet for the first week pizzas and calamari were not available at all. For such a small menu, this was unacceptable. Many areas are in poor condition. The pool by the Terrace Restaurant is missing many tiles, and the rooms are very tired and in need of refurbishment. This said there are some superstar staff working at the hotel and include Terrace Restaurant staff (Raphael. Nancy, Magdalene and Shukubu) and other staff of mention are James, Laura, Julius, Charles and Laurine. Overall, this was a very disappointing holiday. The location and some staff (particularly at the Terrace Restaurant) were excellent, but the constant problems, lack of facilities, poor service, and refusal by management to deal with issues meant our stay was not what we paid for. Diamonds Malindi is sold as a luxury 5-star hotel – in reality, it is nowhere close.

I have been to almost all of Africa and this is the best hotel. The staff is like family. Special thanks to the entertainment staff, they don't let you get bored. I will definitely come here again. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful location right on the beach with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed the variety of pools and the thoughtful design of the spaces. The food selection was varied. The only thing I’d improve is more clarity on room types—some were more luxurious, others simpler and eco-friendly, yet the price seemed the same. Overall, a great experience and I’d be happy to return.

Diamonds Malindi Pros : 1. Lovely property and location 2. Short distance from Malindi airport 3. Beach front property 4. 3 separate pools and a spa to cater for families , couples and groups 5. Lovely stretch of beach . It’s has sea **** spread across but adds to natural beauty. 6. Chef and team were ready to cook a vegetarian option for us at our request as not enough vegetarian choice available . Cons: 1. Room was not ready even though we were delayed and room still not ready . Our family who came earlier also had not got the room ready for a long time . 2. Room door lock was not easy to close and needs a lot of pulling and tugging to close . 3. Room had not enough towels , toilet rolls , soap , tissues or any water bottles for 3 people in our room and we had to go and ask for the above things . POOR IMPRESSION as you settle into your room !! 4. We are vegetarians and food VARIETY and QUALITY is the poorest I have come across in any of my travels over 30 years . ADDS to the all ready poor impression we have from the room experience. 5. In our experience, a lot of staff are interns and inexperienced though friendly and smiling all the time ( not their fault but management needs to buckle up with training ) 6. Food RAN OUT both times during Dinner last night and lunch this afternoon . This is just pasta ! ( especially we are vegetarians ) and we showed the staff to use the packets from the display cabinet in the restaurant since in the entire hotel they had run out ! 7. NOT enough staff in the restaurant as if they ran out of glasses we had to search for a staff member to let them know there is not enough drinking glasses and they went search a stray of glasses which took a bit of time . 8. Live cooking station had only ONE PERSON so a queue builds up and service becomes slow . 9. Service to provide tea or coffee was NON EXISTENT so at breakfast you have to look for coffee station or flag down a member and ask a member of staff to ask them get some coffee or tea .Serving team did their best but management not managing . 10. POOR or NON EXISTENT WiFi in rooms ( not good enough this day and age ) Would I come back ? NO . Staff great but management not investing in staff
