Hotels near Pollyjo & Moz, Malmo

We stayed in a family room for 5 nights, the room was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The lobby had plenty of board games, table tennis, bike hire and a great café bar. There was a great selection for breakfast, including cooked and cold options; pancakes were a firm favourite with our children! We would highly recommend this hotel to families, across the road from Malmö central train station and plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful - a great place to stay!

We chose Unity Malmo because it was advertised as a perfect mix of traditional holiday apartment and luxury hotel. Unfortunately, we could not discover the part of the luxury hotel. The hotel is on Nobelvägen and there is a bus stop about 5 minutes away from which you can take line 3 either to the train station or towards Triangeln. However, only this one line runs and only about every 20 minutes. The area around the hotel does not offer any attractions apart from the Sorgenfri Cemetery. There is a smaller supermarket nearby which is handy if you are self catering. We chose the deluxe studio with 22 square meters. We were welcomed at the reception very friendly are we were also able to leave our luggage until the studio was ready. We received a map and a description of how to get into the building of our studio. Some of the paths are very winding and some of them can only be reached via balconies outside. Our studio was on the 5th floor under the roof with a slope. It was very warm and stuffy. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning and the windows could only be opened when it wasn't raining. The interior is designed by a British designer and decorated in light beige. The individual cabinet elements are stackable. Unfortunately, the upper elements are not accessible for small people, not even the top level in the kitchenette, where pans and pots are placed. A small ladder would be helpful here if you are not accompanied by a taller person. The sofa bed of 140 cm x 200 cm is too small for 2 people, especially since access is only possible from one side as it is right against the wall. This is impractical. In addition, there is no bedside cabinet to store something. Despite the relatively large number of cupboards, there is a lack of storage in crucial places. In the bathroom there is neither a board at the sink nor at the shower. The table is also very small if you only want to eat for two. We found the associated chairs to be very uncomfortable. There was no real workplace where you could conveniently put your laptop. So we had to improvise a lot. The small kitchen is well equipped with portable induction hotplates, a microwave and also a dishwasher. The hotplates could only be used if you turned on the ventilation because the fire alarm was directly above the kitchen. However, the ventilation was extremely loud so that hardly any conversation was possible while cooking.What was missing was a tea towel to dry off a bit. A hand brush would also have been useful, as cleaning only took place every 7 days. With us, this was one day before departure - in this case it no longer makes sense. There is also a gym in the complex that can be used. The Orangery is very pretty with plenty of seating and a large games table for people to borrow one of the many games that are available. I totally recommend this hotel. It is in the heart of the city, the location is amazing. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The pillows were especially comfortable. If I go to Malmo again, I will definitely stay here again.

Basically good bargin with clean quite big rooms near the station. Really large selection for breakfast. Building and rooms are concrete/white boaring but good taste colours and paintings. Good beds. We had a nice shower, but the toilet was placed cramped. Service was not unfriendly, but nothing more than busy/neutral. We paid for parking across the street. Very easy, but when you pay, be sure to get the door code to the parking house in order to use the lift

I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a recent business trip and thought I would try and give a balanced review of my experiences. I decided to stay here base on the large number of good reviews both on Google and ***********. However I immediately realized that the place wasn't really in line with my expectations and regretted my decision to stay here, rather than in some of the other boutique hotels I was also looking at. To start with it's not really a hotel at all, despite the name. It's somewhere between serviced apartments and an American style motel, depending on what kind of room you have. I stayed in one of the ”loft” rooms which ironically was on the ground floor, with my door opening straight onto the street and pavement. Not ideal for security or peace and quiet. The space itself was very large but most of the unit was empty and very spartan. It reminded me of when I had moved house in the past and my furniture and belongings hadn't yet arrived. So if you like minimalism and Zen living this place could be perfect for you. For me it felt just rather sad and empty and not somewhere I wanted to spend any time, at least not without some beer. On the plus side the bed was soft and comfortable but the pillows were a a bit of a joke. Think four fat cushions full of lumpy teddy bear stuffing. I ended up making a more modest sized pillow out of the spare duvet. I remember seeing on the booking details that the place had a coffee machine. Great I thought. So yes, whilst I can confirm that my room did in fact have a coffee machine, it had no coffee to go with it. Which of course means that you need to go shopping and finding a shop that's open late or early is kind of hard in this neighbourhood. I also could not find a hair dryer. The room also didn't get any daily cleaning such as the bathroom or refreshing towels. Apparently if you stay long enough, you get a weekly clean. The unit was also really hot and despite leaving the air conditioning on full blast for many hours I only succeed in getting the temperature down from 30 degrees to 27. And as none of the windows opened my only option was to open the front door right onto the street allowing everybody to see in. Apparently this is a known problem and they are trying to fix it. But even if it had worked, leaving it on at night would not have been a good idea as they are industrial AC units and very noisy. Reception did try and find me a fan but alas, there were none. The loft rooms also have the bed upstairs and the bathroom and toilet downstairs so if during the night you need to get up to answer the call of nature you have a very steep set of stairs to navigate. Whoever was in charge of soft furnishings either cut corners or had a tiny budget because the blinds did not cover the full width of the windows meaning that basically the room was full of light even with the blinds shut. Second time my wife and I have stayed at MJ’s. We love this hotel, the atmosphere is very welcoming and staff are really friendly. The decor is also very cool. We have only stayed in the small rooms, which are basic but really comfortable. The location of the hotel is also fantastic, central to the bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel bar can get lively, which my wife and I like but the noise cannot be heard from the rooms. Only let down this time was the breakfast. We opted for a late time slot, 10-10:45am as we didn’t want to get up early. However, the food items were not topped up for example no boiled eggs, chicken sausages, juice etc. which was a shame as in our opinion all breakfast items should be available during the breakfast serving hours.

Fantastic location, close to the train station! We initially had some issues with Google maps pointing is in the wrong way, but once found, it was brilliantly situated near the train station. There isn't much to do in Malmo, so if you're hungry, it's conjuction to pop across to the train station for food and drinks. The hotel is very dated, but that is what gives it some personality, it has the old school lifts on the first floor and if you have heavy bags and they put you on floors 4 or 5, I hope the receptionist is kind enough to tell you that the lifts work in zig zags, as ours didn't, didn't even mention there was another lift and so we had to carry our very heavy bags up several flights of stairs. We were not amused. Perhaps, they didn't not feel like explaining the lifts but it would have been appreciated if they had! Breakfast is downstairs in the basement, which sounds daunting but they make up the area nicely. Food is acceptable and plenty of choice. The rooms as musty smelling but that's due to the sheer age of the place.

I have visited the few times now on business. The hotel is located in downtown Malmö, close to the central station. The hotel is very nice with a bar in the lobby. The rooms are spacious and always very clean. The breakfast is very good and the staff is very polite and smiling. The gym is in the basement. The gym is very functional, but quite small. They play very to beat y music, which I always enjoy. In fact the only drawback was wireless in the room. The download speed is quite low, so downloading more important documents or entering movies, etc. was only possible without temporary interruptions. I even attached the speed test screenshot. Generally, a good download speed is close to / over 10 MB. The hotel typically has 1.5-3 MB. Therefore, it seems that they should invest in better wireless internet terminals.

We stayed at 3 days at Hotell Nordic Link which is situated in Lund's centre really close to Mårtenstorget and many other attractions are all within easy walking distance. What is a HUGE plus is that parking is available directly behind the hotel which has direct access (on the second floor) and an elevator. It cost 190 kr for 24 hours. Helpful and efficient staff. Our room had a little balcony, a mini kitchen with fridge and micro, it was clean, quiet and had very comfortable beds. The room had both blackout curtains and AC. The bathroom was a good size and had all the usual amenities. I think it needs a little shelf near the mirror for toilet bag, make-up etc. There is complementary Pod-coffee, tea and WiFi. However, there was no kitchen hand-towel/tea-towel. What we found problematic was the small breakfast area, there were queues and crowded in the narrow dining area. Considering we are in a Covid epidemic this really needs to be addressed. We tried eating breakfast after 9:10 to avoid queues but it made no difference. We ate outside but it was still very crowded getting the actual food. The cleaning staff were not wearing disposable gloves or using hand sanitizer often, I never saw any staff member do this. Why clean a room every day when there is a risk for infection? I have stayed at Nordic Lund before and I would stay here again, because I love the location but I would skip breakfast until this Covid epidemic is over.
