I hated my stay here. We picked this place after sailing over to MI from WI on the car ferry. It seemed like a reasonable distance before continuing our journey. I thought it would have a nice view of the small lake in the town based on its location. You could see the lake from the hotel, but not from our room. The room I selected was expensive, one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel. It was no different from any other cheap, generic hotel room except it had a hot tub in it and a shower. I should have saved my money. I just wanted a nice King suite. One of the things I really hated about the virus is that it caused most hotels to shut down their breakfast buffets. Instead of hot breakfasts where you can serve yourself, you were given a bag of carbs to go. Thankfully this practice has died out, and has been dead for a long time as the virus diminished. Not here. In June 2022, the management of this hotel is claiming that the risk of covid prevents them from providing a buffet, hot breakfast. I don't know it for a fact, but it would be my opinion the way that this hotel is run that it is simply a money making exercise, squeeze as much out of the hotel as possible, who cares about a good experience for the guests. I've tried to think of something good to say about this place. I can't think of much. I slept OK is about all I can do. Apparently there are only 4 hotels in Manistee. Based on my experience, you'd be better served at one of the other ones.

I am one of the previous customers who stayed in your hotel the night of November 13th, 2021. I lost my key earlier that night unfortunately. I got back for the night around 1:30am after being out with friends and went to the front desk to receive a new key. I was very rudely questioned on who I was and who everyone was that I was staying with. I was told that I was untrustworthy and was hesitantly given a new key after many times asking and having conversation back and forth with the concierge. The next morning I found out the same incident happened to my friend but instead of getting a new key he was forced to sit outside the hotel all night or the cops would be called due to him also seeming ”untrustworthy” and ”not a real customer of the hotel”. I am appalled by this news and that someone who paid for a night in this hotel was literally kicked to the curb and refused a new key. This is completely unacceptable and I cannot even believe this happened especially on a night where it was snowing and freezing cold. He was not able to sleep all night and ended up getting pneumonia due to the extensive time he spent outdoors. The concierge was an elderly, white male.

A family hotel in a town, typical American style. There is almost no breakfast. The environment of the town is good, and it should be a hot tourist town in summer.
