A Grave Disappointment at Leonardo Hotel Mannheim City Center... Having made reservations for a suite at the Leonardo Hotel Mannheim City Center for our stay from April 5th to April 7th, 2024, we were looking forward to a serene weekend break. Our booking was made on January 5th, 2024, ensuring that we planned well in advance for what was supposed to be a relaxing retreat. Imagine our astonishment when, merely a week before our arrival, we were bluntly notified that no rooms were available. This abrupt notice came as a complete surprise, especially considering our early reservation and the clear communications we had with the hotel subsequently. The hotel's sheer lack of initiative in offering us any alternative or solution was thoroughly disheartening. Our booking was summarily cancelled just days ahead of our intended visit, without any prior consultation or effort to accommodate us in any way. Though they stated there would be no extra charges due to the cancellation, this scant consolation does nothing to alleviate the profound inconvenience and utter lack of professionalism we encountered. I am profoundly disappointed by this experience. The absence of service was not just poor; it was completely lacking. This incident has entirely deterred me from considering a future stay at the Leonardo Hotel Mannheim City Center, and I strongly advise potential guests to reconsider their options. The failure to demonstrate any form of empathy, understanding, or competence in customer service throughout this ordeal was not just surprising; it was unacceptable. Sadly, it is clear that this establishment does not value its guests or their experiences.

We arrived at the hotel after a long travel day in the early evening and the receptionist was very friendly, listened and gave us two nice rooms with views towards the city (rather than the station and rail-tracks). The rooms were clean and had amenities such as a kettle. What really rocked was the breakfast. An excellent choice of cold and warm, a very good handmade fruit-salad and bircher musli. As I am someone using the stairs rather than the elevator to do some steps, I really enjoyed the motivating messages on each floor of the staircase. Good idea! Overall great value for our money. Thank you so much for this wonderful stay, we will come back when the opportunity arises.

Clean and modern hotel, great breakfast to start your day and most importantly it's 5 mins walk to Mannheim main train station and 2 mins walk to the tram station to Mannheim shopping district. Front office staff were welcoming and courteous, thanks for making my stay wonderful. Best part of the hotel is the view of the train station and absolutely zero noise from outside, which makes your stay very comfortable.

The hotel pretty far from Bahnhof but if you not hurry or your destination are in the city it's ok. When I arrived, there were many people waiting to check in. Got a room a little late I have to wait 15-20 minutes to get a key card. (Unfortunately the hotel bar was not open at that time. Otherwise I will have a seat to chill and wait.) The room :: I really like the room, everything like in the picture, So stylish, comfy and clean. Just the AC it was not cool at night.

Tolles sauberes Zimmer mit Wohlfühlfaktor, Service super und freundlich, sehr hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück vielfältig und abwechslungsreich. First off, understand that Ludwigshafen is not a happening place. I was here for business, for which I feel the place would be adequate for a day or two stay, but not the week I was here. I titled this as ”try hard”, as that's what I hear my kids call someone who is tries hard and fails, which I feel fits since the hotel tries really hard to be modern and hip. Moxy is Marriot's new brand aimed at the youth and the copies board games, lockers, random graffiti and whatnot scattered around the lobby would imply they are going that way. Considering most of the time it was filled with old businessmen like me would say they might want to consider having this in a more appropriate location. Moxy Lu is a very spartan hotel. No restaurant to speak of - on Sunday I asked if they had any lunch offerings as nothing is around there and they told me their one and only oven, used to cook breakfast, was broken and wouldn't be working for at least a few hours. There is a very solid Italian restaurant next door but you don't want to eat that every day. There's also right now a Christmas market nearby but the opening timing for it is very variable. It's also next to the Rhine mall but understand that German business hours are earlier than American so it closes early and is closed entirely on Sunday. Rooms are clearly advertised as capsule types and they are very reminiscent of Japanese capsule rooms - a bed, bathroom, a chair, and that's it. A hook on the wall and 4 hangers is all your clothes storage, a 6 inch wide, 2 foot long glass panel sticking out from the wall is your ”desk”, and that's it. No safe, no shelves, no coffee machine, nothing. Definitely not where I wanted to spend a week, but that's not their fault. The hotel is very new and is very clean overall. Also a plus that it is very quiet. I've been in hotels where I could literally hear the person walking around next door. All that said, why 3 stars? Well, as clean as it was, there was a long black hair at eye level in the shower when I first stepped in. As I'm folically challenged, I'm certain it wasn't mine. Secondly, one of the elevators broke multiple times while I was there, once trapping a person in there for 15 minutes while I was in the lobby. He eventually tumbled out, angry, scared, and half-clothed (took off some clothes as he was feeling very hot). Said elevator was not flagged as being out of order for at least an hour after as I was in and out. Eventually it was. It had an out of order sign still on it on my second day despite being in use...assumed this was an error before the guy got caught in front of me. Not good management of an issue, I feel.

Very cozy room, all available, including water cooker with coffee/tea self-service. Bets: super sleeping Rooms can be completely dark No street/train noise heard, wonderfully quiet Service very friendly, breakfast buffet everything there is constantly re-filled. Rational price/performance ratio. Thank you to all who do their job so wonderfully in the hotel! We will come back in any case!

The hotel was easy to reach from the Autobahn and there is enough parking space by the hotel. The parking is free and the rooms are nice, modern and big enough. The breakfast is OK and enough variety. We booked a second night, the staff is very nice and helpful. There is a tram nearby to get into town. We walked wich was a nice walk but far - therefor the old town is spread out a long woy. We took a ”lime scooter” back to the hotel - wich was fun - there a plenty room on the bikepathes. The hotel is nice and quited and the beds where good there I would recommend it. There is 24 hours check-in available.

We were so glad to see this fully renovated hotel open in time for our visit to the Heidelberg Christmas Market (original opening date was projected for the end of December). The Hilton Heidelberg is an incredible facility, surpassed only by the amazing team working to provide the best possible experience! We have never been so graciously welcomed by so many on the team, including the General Manager, Remmie. Margarita and Katerina took great care of us during check in and were even able to upgrade us to a Junior Suite - what a welcome surprise! After settling in to our room, we had the pleasure of meeting Lubeth in the Executive Lounge who took care of every need and made us feel so welcome - always with a smile! The management team is definitely committed to hiring the best, but they are also clearly committed to leading by example. Vladimir (the restaurant manager) made a point of introducing himself and checking to be sure we were enjoying our stay and Sonja was so gracious when we were visiting the restaurant. Brent stopped by while we were in the Executive Lounge to be sure we were enjoying our visit and asked if there was anything he could do to help. Tim (a Heidelberg local) took time to share some of his favorite spots around town, as well as the hotel amenities and make sure we made the most of our time in town! I cannot remember another hotel stay where I could name more than 1-2 people on the staff - this team truly made us feel welcomed and valued! Thank you for a such a great experience!
