Wyndham Maoming

This hotel is absolutely terrible, far worse than I expected. It was extremely dirty and the facilities were very outdated. There is an outdoor pool, but it was filthy. We checked in at around 3 PM, and upon entering the room, the floor was covered in water. The cleaning was clearly done carelessly—there were used tissues left on the sofa by the previous guest, and neither towels nor toiletries were provided. When I called the front desk to ask, they actually replied that they had run out of them. I was speechless—how can they give an answer like that? After making several more phone calls, they only brought some towels and toothbrushes, claiming that face towels are not provided and guests have to bring their own. I've worked in the hotel industry for decades, and this is the first time I've ever experienced a hotel that doesn't provide face towels! Complaining to the management was useless; the person who answered the phone claimed to be an intern. For a 1,359 RMB hotel, this is the level of service we get. I wouldn't stay here again even if it were free. What a rip-off! Charging over 1,300 RMB a night and not even delivering the service you'd expect from a 300 RMB hotel. I also reached out to Trip.com customer service through the app to intervene, but got no response—maybe because it was the National Day holiday rush, but they should at least follow up with an explanation later. I didn't book a youth hostel; I am beyond disappointed.

Our stay was a terrible experience, easily the worst part of our trip. The booking stated check-in was at 3 PM, but we didn't get our room key until after 5 PM, a full two-hour delay that messed up our plans. The package included activities like a miniature train ride, but these couldn't be used until after 3 PM. The hotel didn't proactively inform us of this restriction while we were waiting to check in, so in the end, we missed out on the package activities before checkout. We were given a twin room, which had a noticeable musty smell, and the toilet continuously reeked of urine. Even after the hotel arranged for another cleaning, the strong odor was still there when we woke up the next day. During the room inspection at checkout, we even found a cockroach *shell* on the bed. When we reported these issues to the staff, all we got was a verbal apology. The scenic area itself was decent, but the check-in service, room hygiene, package inclusions, and dinner service were all major letdowns. I strongly advise anyone who cares about hygiene or getting what they paid for in a package to think twice before choosing this place.

This hotel has good infrastructure and nice scenery, but the service is incredibly poor. It took us an hour and a half to check in. At 5 PM, the room still wasn't cleaned. When it finally was, the tabletop wasn't wiped, there were used disposable slippers on the floor, the drain was clogged, and the shower water wasn't hot enough. Breakfast had limited options and the service was lacking. We booked a swim-up room, but there were no lights at night so we couldn't use the pool. It would have been better to stay in a regular room upstairs; it felt like a waste of money.

The location is a big plus, with its own private beach so you don't have to deal with crowded public ones. It's super convenient for watching both sunrise and sunset. They have an infinity pool and a kids' water park, making it very family-friendly. Guests also get free entry to Romantic Coast and free parking. The lobby has a nice Southeast Asian style, great for photos, and the breakfast selection is extensive. The front desk staff, especially Wei Min, provided excellent and responsive service. It's worth noting that if you prioritize ocean views, the beach, and a resort atmosphere, this is a great choice. However, if you're looking for brand-new facilities, you might need to lower your expectations. It's perfect for a short weekend getaway by the sea.

This stay was fantastic! The sea view room offered a stunning panoramic view, and the room was spotlessly clean with comfortable bedding. Watching the sunset by the sea was so therapeutic. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The whole place had a wonderful holiday vibe. I'll definitely be back!

The hotel is grand, beautiful, and high-class. The front desk staff's service attitude is excellent and deserves praise.

The environment is fantastic, directly facing the sea. The rooms are clean, hygienic, tidy, and comfortable. The pool is clean and clear, and the children's water park is clean and safe. The beach is right in front of the hotel, very close, and there's even a fireworks show in the evening!

I chose this hotel because it's right on the beach. Once I got to my room, I saw the balcony faced the ocean, offering an unobstructed view of the sea and sky – it really doubled the enjoyment of my trip! 👍👍👍 The hotel's shuttle service also made getting around so much easier for this trip! 👍👍👍 The front desk lady and the shuttle driver provided really warm and thoughtful service. 🌹🌹🌹 I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!

Going back in time, I've just realized this is my fifth visit to Romantic Coast and the Wyndham in ten years. I have vivid memories and deep feelings for every change here. Although the hotel's hardware facilities are clearly out of sync with modern demands, it's still worth looking forward to. The Concentric Bridge on the coast is long gone, but I hope the original intention remains unchanged, and they continue to strive to create a warm and romantic holiday paradise!
