Hotels near Catedral de Maputo in Maputo

The hotel was tidy, and I like the location and view. The cathedral next to it is very beautiful. And the location is not too far from the airport, so it is suitable.

Booked in by my company on a layover in Maputo. When we checked in we were told the elevator was broken and our rooms were on the 11th floor !! Room was was very shabby. Broken window, mould in the bathroom, broken wall sockets NO toilet paper. Not worth the $83 charged for the over night stay and in fact would never stay here again. WiFi was terrible and hardly able to connect. Would not recommend this place, nothing in this place relates to VIP !!! Avoid it.

The exterior and lobby are very nice and the location is ok. There are 2 very slow, very small, sometimes functioning elevators. The rooms need work, see photos. Chunks of bathroom tile missing, 3 out of 4 bulbs in bedside lights missing and fixtures broken, there was obviously some kind of flood from the bathroom that wrecked the plywood flooring. I'm gluten and dairy free so didn't trust any of the handful of things on the room service menu, some of our friends did and the reviews went from mediocre to inedible. There's apparentIy some sort of breakfast but after asking the staff in the cafeteria a couple of times if we could order something and being told no (at 7:50am, breakfast is advertised as being at 7:30), we went out for breakfast, which seems to be the smart move. If you just need something no frills to sleep for a night it did seem like the beds were clean but the water pressure in the shower is a luke warm trickle. Set your expectations and it's fine as a place to sleep for a night, but I wouldn't stay longer.

We had booked this before colleagues of mine in Maputo recommended other hotels. The hotel is clean, secure, and quiet, and the front desk staff were great. Location is reasonably close to the business districts and there is a grocery store next door. The rooftop bar is OK, though in a city with a lot of great views, it is nothing special. The breakfast was pretty dismal, and given how difficult transportation can be in Maputo if you don't have a driver, the staff could have been more helpful in that regard: they called a driver to take us to dinner but then left us to negotiate the price. In Portuguese. If your transportation is covered and this place is cheap, go ahead, but otherwise there are better places in town.

Great. The following are the advantages and disadvantages: advantage: 1. Good location 2. The staff are professional and considerate to the guests. After I moved in, I found that the provided Wi-Fi can only connect to two devices. If there are more, they can’t connect. I called the front desk and they immediately found a way to get another account and returned it to the room. , Teach me how to use. The service staff are professional, always smiling and very enthusiastic. 3. The room facilities are good, the bed is good, and it feels relatively high-end. Disadvantages: 4. The hotel entrance and lobby are too unassuming. When I checked in, I thought it was broken and my mind was beaten. 5. You can’t take a bath in the room bath. Standing in the bath, the water is easy to spill on the ground and get a lot of water on the ground. 6. The food is not tasty Overall recommendation. I stayed two nights in a row, and it was the only hotel where I stayed together.

A very good hotel. Before, people who stayed abroad were all opened by Chinese people. Now I find that Chinese people open all kinds of expensive things. The accommodation and food are expensive, and the environment is dirty and messy! ! On the contrary, the crooked nuts are clean and hygienic, and the price is reasonable!

Rooms are very well appointed. Airconditioned and very comfortable. No bath in the bathrooms but otherwise very nice. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel is laid out as a round building so navigating around the premises is rather challenging. Some floors are across different levels. Central elevator is not working. So the only access to the rooms is through the service elevator. Breakfast was a complete buffet. Food seems to be of a high quality.

As a family we stayed at the Polana recently . It was an uplifting,enjoyable experience for all of us from the youngest (3) to the oldest . The hotel is truly a grande dame in sparkling condition .The staff are super obliging and the chef and his staff excel. Highly ,highly recommended

Best accommodation for Business travelers with all modern amenities and food is excellent.

We have read the other reviews on this hotel and wonder which place they stayed - different hotel from us? Firstly the staff. We only speak English and had no problem whatsoever communicating with the staff -with whom we interacted on many levels. When we arrived our booking was not evident - it was booked for us less than an hour before by our insurance company. Two gentlemen sorted this out and I was shown me to our room. I was very impressed. Admittedly it did appear that we had been given a free upgrade but nonetheless it was very nice. Yes there are a lot of light switches but they are not that hard to figure out. The balcony was indeed a bonus. We had to spend a lot of time in the room as I had just come out of hospital after an unplanned operation on my ankle following an accident and we were waiting for flights home to be arranged. We stayed at the Gloria for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We thought that the choice of food for breakfast was excellent. Obviously we only sampled small parts of the menu but there was an extensive choice. Maybe we have bland taste as suggested by others but we thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese food in the restaurant. We ate one night at the Italian restaurant next to the shopping centre behind the hotel. This was also nice. I was unable to access the shower in our room properly due to my injury and asked for a plastic garden chair or similar. The lovely lady on reception arranged for a chair to be sent up. I said it was not suitable as it was too grand and would be ruined if it became wet. I was told it was a ”small sacrifice to make for a guest”. Exceptional customer service. In the end we managed to use the chair without getting it wet by using bin liners over it but the sentiment that it did not matter if I ruined the chair was greatly appreciated. We have absolutely no negative comments to make about the staff. High praise from us. Thank you.
