This facility is rather plain, despite its high price. The materials from the management list the LACK of cell phone service as an amenity! The bed was comfortable; the food was fair; there was no housekeeping during our two night stay. The main lodge has a lovely rustic with a large fireplace, but the fire went out repeatedly, apparently because the wood had been too damp. Front desk was intermittently attended.

The decor, design, vibe, and atmosphere at Urban Cowboy is pure perfection – they nailed it! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. We had cocktails in the lounge and ate at the restaurant for dinner and absolutely loved our meal. Highly recommend - it feels like a true getaway and there is such a strong attention to detail. You are welcomed with a glass of either bubbly or bourbon which is such a nice way to start a vacation! The only critique I have is that the towels were thin and small. Attention went into so many details including hand painted wallpaper so to provide guests with soft comfortable towels would be more on brand. Overall a GREAT experience!

Place looks great, planned a father daughter weekend, accidentally booked the wtong weekend. Realized it within 12 hours called to cancel and reschedule - according to the manager he did me a favor and charged be $300 to cancel and reschedule - such a nice guy doing amazing favors.

Spent our 5th anniversary weekend here and it was great. We received an upgrade in rooms to a king with a outdoor soaking tub and it was great. The room was very nice and had everything we needed. The main Lodge always had a fire going and was a nice place to relax and have a drink. Not the best time of year for outdoor activities but there were several hiking trails within 10 min of the lodge and they were great.

Stayed for a long weekend at Urban Cowboy lodge. We enjoyed the casual and hip vibe. Staff was super friendly, relaxed and helpful. We had a outdoor soaking tub that had a nice view and was extremely relaxing. We enjoyed the sauna, outdoor fire pits, indoor fire place and had a great dinner in the restaurant. I definitely recommend a stay in this unique property.

My biggest complaint is that they charge one 3% of the total for using a credit card AND they do not clearly disclose such a transaction (aka junk) fee when booking. They mention "fees" but don't tell you anything about what they are and why and then also add "leisure fees", "auto-gratuities", and "service charges". Honestly, its a big rip-off. Separate from the above, our room was very dark, the bed was horribly soft and the music in the common areas was way too loud. I would never stay again.

Place is beautiful and great for families or solo! The below review is going to be pretty rough and it was logistically hell to deal with in the aftermath. That said, the lodge itself is 5/5 and so are the Owners. While I'm truly far too embarrassed to return, I would actually recommend a visit. I am confident they made changes after I had to handle this (I know they got rid of some of the staff and they're only seasonal - I was there in July and I know this was a priority going into fall and winter. NOTE - It's likely very difficult to find adequate staff in such a remote location, so I can sympathize. However.... My advice to ownership is to cut your staff in half - IMMEDIATELY replace both managers and put the funds from cutting staff towards finding management with hospitality experience (figure you can likely incentivize someone with a higher salary which would be possible by re-allocating these funds). I kid you not, these people were literally useless, rude, and clueless. If you see someone titled as "Owner" responding to reviews and arguing back with customers - THIS IS NOT THE OWNER - THIS IS A MANAGER. IT IS NOT REFLECTIVE OF THE TEAM AND BUSINESS ITSELF. Sadly, they care more about their own fun that the guests. They are either nowhere to be found or a group of them at the front desk doing nothing. PREPARE for the arrogant hipster attitude. My best advice is to try to overload them with kindness and avoid at all costs (they live together in staff housing - They are all friends - They will ROLL you under the bus and say "4 of us saw and can attest" - Absurd - Truly - Absurd. I had a girl moment overnight (ladies, if you know- you know) and unfortunately stained the sheets. I had to tell TWO male managers about this as they were accusing me of leaving the room in disarray. Pretty scarring experience though (what on earth did they expect me to do? wash the sheets in my shower? go the closest dry cleaner ~50 miles away?). Upon entering a completely different room than I had PAID MORE FOR and booked online). I didn't even let the door close because the room wreaked of cigarettes and I immediately told the manager this. The response was: "Our cleaning staff uses a specific product that leaves a musty smell." What the...?? They then tried to stick me with a $200 cleaning fee. When I tried to address the accusations (absurd), BOT MALE managers actually LAUGHED. I still think about it to this day. So horrible. When I was able to reach the owner, he made everything right. For that reason, I will give a 5/5 review. On my way out.. I hit a rock with my car and the male manager said I "sped off in my car without checking out" - I had literally checked out in person ~10 minutes prior (you have to physically give them back the key). He then asked "Did you tell the staff??? - Three of them witnessed the accident" - AGAIN, had I told the staff they would've done NOTHING - There was NO damage to the property and only to my rental. WHY WERENT

Can not speak highly enough of this place. Possibly the best and kindest service I’ve encountered from booking to checkout. The place is amazing with beautiful detail everywhere, Plenty to do on-site (screening room, pool table, bar, restaurant, board games, fire pits, etc) and also a great place to do nothing and just enjoy the beauty of the property.

Place is beautiful and great for families or solo! The hotel booked me into a different room than I booked online. This is a problem with the lodge and third-party booking - DEFINITELY call in advance to confirm your room ahead of your stay (856-912-2729) - They make it very difficult to find a phone number, but this should work! I went to UCL in late July and planned it as a last minute trip from NYC. I would 100% recommend bringing a car. The nearest hikes and worthwhile places to go are ~20-30 mins and there aren't any trains nearby. The lodge itself is beautifully designed. I personally loved the remote location. If you do a little desktop research, you'll be able to find some great hikes and off-the-beaten path waterfalls, etc. The owners of the lodge are truly one of a kind people (specifically Lyon). The hotel in Nashville is AWESOME and I'm excited to see the newest location in Colorado. I didn't get along with one member of staff, but upper management was receptive and empathetic in handling. NOTE - It's likely very difficult to find adequate staff in such a remote location, so I can sympathize. Further... Leaving the manager's contact info below because I couldn't find it anywhere online! :):) Chuck Formoso 856-912-2779 Chuck@Urbancowboylodge.com
