This is conveniently located for getting around the medina and myself and my daughter had a good stay here. Our room was very dark, which was a shame. We are independent travellers, so didn’t need help from the manager (who did seem helpful to those who asked for advice). It’s hard to locate the Riad and beware the locals who offer to help find the place but demand payment! The pictures online show lovely double beds on the terrace, but they weren’t there….in fact, the communal areas felt in need of tlc. Overall, this was a nice place to stay, but could have been better.

Great location. Friendly, helpful hosts/team. Spacious accommodation though not suitable for those with a mobility problem (many steps within building and steep stairs to sleeping area. Room quirky and authentically furnished though very dark. Beautiful roof terrace with sunloungers. Transfers to and from airport were available and Oussama arrange some great day trips for me.

The Riad is situated through narrow alleys and at first quite confusing to get to, but once you know your way it's fine. Osama welcomed us at the Riad and was very hospitable, nothing was too much for him. Great host, we appreciate everything you & your staff did for us. Osama changed our room to a much bigger one with more beds, as the double beds are smaller than a double in the UK, pillows are soft. We got quite sick on the last day and were looked after very well. We got to stay in our room even after checkout at no extra cost, which was very kind. The Riad has a lot of stairs so not ideal for my visually impaired son, but he coped. The rooms are big & spacious. The Toilet ceiling in our Riad (for 7 people) was quite low so my husband and 17 year old (6ft tall) suffered a little. The breakfast was nice, especially the mint tea, but it was the same everyday. The Riad is 5 mins walk to the main Jema Al Fana square. Be careful walking through the bazaar, especially with kids, as motorbikes zoom past at high speed in between pedestrians. Be careful of locals offering to take you back to the Riad if you are lost as they will ask for money in the end, just use Google maps. Watch what you eat, DO NOT eat any salad, or drink tap water (even to brush your teeth). Just get bottled water. We were so sick on our last day, non stop vomiting. Marrakesh was nice, a few days is enough. We had a heatwave in Feb (25-32C) so were lucky! First couple of days were great, but after we got sick we just wanted to come home.

Decent location and a potentially lovely riad but very worn and unkept. We asked for an airport transfer which went fine. Our room was very dark and dingy. Rugs, blankets, heavy curtains and decorative pillows had stains and were dusty. Our beds were hard. Pictures provided by the riad were not like the reality. Rooms looked sunny, airy and clean but ours was not any of those things. Shower in the bathroom had no door/curtain so water sprayed all over the room making a mess. The rooftop was very dirty and empty. No cushions for chairs, towels for loungers, etc. We took a look to check out the view (nothing special) and never went back up. Pool area was nice but the pool was very cold, even in the 90 degree heat. We took breakfast at the riad because it was Ramadan, there are no fridges in the room and food was somewhat scarce. Subpar, lots of starch - croissants, Moroccan pancakes, chapatis, oj, tea and coffee. You could ask for a plain egg omelet and/or cup of yogurt. Osama (sp?) the manager was lovely - best thing about this riad by far. I noticed the reviews were not as good on other booking sites (*******, ***********, etc.) but thought I'd go by the better Tripadvisor reviews. So now I know. Would not recommend.

We had some doubts of going to Marakech after the news about the earthquake but we decided to go anyway. The trip and Riad was excellent; we had almost no limitations in the city except for a closed mosque and enjoyed it very much. Osama also helped us with a trip to the desert where we could see the sunset, start and enjoyed dinner and local music. Would recommend!

Great location in the center of the old city. Walking distance of all touristic places and just a short walk to the souks and the famous Jemaa El Fna square. Oussama was a great host. Very friendly and helpful. The riad was cosy and comfortable enough for a short stay.

My stay at the Riad was a great experience, which is very much due to the wonderful staff. Osama and his team are very friendly and helpful and made me very welcome. The Riad is incredibly charming and lovingly decorated. The location is perfect for walking excursions through the Medina. Choukran Bazaf to Osman, Ismail, and the entire team for a memorable time at the Riad.

I enjoyed my stay here with my two children. Right in the heart of the old town medina. It was an amazing experience. The staff were so helpful and managed all our requirements. Especially ousama, ismail and the girls.

I had the best stay at Riad Dar Bounouar! The staff and owner all super lovely and helpful and a great place to be within the Medina. Easy to get everywhere and a nice cosy place to enjoy and relax too.

Airport transfer went pretty well. Loved Osama (sp?) who was our contact - seems like he's a manager. Online pictures are way nicer than the reality. Our room was dark, dreary, worn, dusty and not super clean. When taking a shower water splashed all over the floor - needed a shower door/curtain. Small uncomfortable (hard) bed. Floors, rugs, blankets, decorative pillows, etc. felt/looked/smelled dirty. Riad was an interesting building but felt very worn - stained cushions on chairs, weeds, stained blankets covering sofas, etc. Upstairs rooftop area is dusty and vacant, checked it out and never went back up there. Breakfast was nothing like the pictures, very limited. But it was Ramadan and the price was only 500 MAD, so maybe that's the reason?

The riad is very beautiful and quiet. The staff were helpful with suggestions and transportation when needed. Breakfast was convenient and a good deal. We enjoyed the pool and the rooftop terrace immensely.

Excellent friendly service with every effort made to meet our needs. Beautiful space, with parts under renovation though this didn’t affect our stay. Value for money. Good all round.
