I don't know where to start. We have done a dozen of Spa Hotel in Sweden so i believe that our experience in this hotel is valuable. I start with the room. It reminds me one of those airport's hotel room in London, where really tired, you just wanna sleep, don't even care if the room looks claustrophobic. There's no "bathroom sink" as such. It's in middle of the room, like a kitchen, with one of those small mirror to zoom on your face. Deal with that when you wanna shave. Literally like a kitchen sink. Doesn't seems at all romantic. The view from the room ? It's the parking for those who like to see the cars. Let's hold on, hold on your chairs, the best part is coming. The slippers :) First time ever, and i mean "ever", i see that in a Spa in Sweden "Enjoy 39 Kr", the slippers were in the room. I looked at my GF, and told her "We have to buy them, you can't go in the Spa with your boots and your robe". Especially that going to the SPA, guess ? You have to pass by the restaurant with your robe ! We closed our eyes, it was so pathetic experience to pass by the restaurant full of people with our robe. We looked like an attraction. We have been in some SPA, where you have to walk from your room, from the outside, that's fine. But passing by the restaurant, that's a humiliating experience. Your slippers are wet on the way back. 39kr in tissus. First time ever i pay for slippers in a Spa. The Spa itself ? A large pool with some chairs and long chairs around. A what so called "Sauna", 3 saunas on another room. They have 3 kinda jacuzzy outside. The Kosta Boda hotel spa is thousand times more lovely. The staffs ? Yes, lets talk about it. During the diner, we got a menu. Like most of the spa, you take the 3 dinners meals. This menu was a mix of paid and included meals. The waitress, she didn't even explained us the menu. There were some drinks we could have take additionally, like most of 3 meals in such hotel spa, she said nothing. We did our choice, and like really embarrassing situation, she told us "this one you have to pay, that one you have to pay...", people watching us just on the side as we looked to be the TV show due to the arrangement of the tables. It's just like that. You feel having spectators during the entire diner due to the arrangement of the tables. The part i laughed the most, (despite the slippers), it's the bread. We asked for bread, and she told us "It's in the menu". Right. 55kr for a basket of 3 bread and some Knäckebröd that tasted like it was from the day before. Annoying. Honestly, i don't know about you, but myself, this is the first time ever that i pay for bread in a restaurant. Trust me, and i mean it, there are dozen better more cheaper spa hotel in Sweden ! We paid 4000 kr for one night ! (5000 kr with some baguette sandwich we never got and some bubble sparkling wine). Up to you, but for us : Never ever. Ridiculous.

We had a great time at this lovely hotel. The spa and hot tubs were spotless and awesome. The food at the restaurant hit the spot. The room was alright—no fridge, TV, or closet, but no biggie; we used the balcony as a fridge. Bummer that the outdoor sauna was out of order the whole time. Despite that, we totally recommend this place for its sweet location and overall quality. Thanks

Weekend package with SPA @Markstrand Havshotell was a perfect choice, excellent SPA, food and wonderful hikes with spectacular views nearby, highly recommend !!! We did receive a lunch box to take with us and enjoy the lunch outdoor which was a perfect cherry on the cake ;), especially as the weather was perfect for being outdoor and enjoy surroundings.

Old and very used hotel Asking sea view getting a house 3 Metres in-front windows. Not taking care but come back next day, mistakes can happen but take advantage from it could have been done when telling that rooms are available next day but won’t replace before next day. - next day no one knows and all back from start, even when it’s shown in order. Disappointing welcome and first of two days stay

When we checked in, the receptionist did not tell us when and where breakfast was. This is not a big deal but every hotel anywhere, regardless of standard, tells you this. This should have been the first red flag. Parking ... their page says it is "available". Yes it is, but you have to pay (85 sek per night). Parking is always "available" if you are willing to pay for it. The fact that they mention it on their page implies to me that it is part of the booking and free. It isn't. The carpet in the room was filthy (see photo). I can not blame them for not cleaning it because the stains were so ingrained that it needed replacing - not cleaning. We stayed two nights and they did not clean the room on the day in between. When I went down to (very politely) complain and ask that it be cleaned, I was told that for environmental reasons, they only clean rooms if we ask for it and if we don't they donate 10 sek to WWF Save the Oceans. They said this was explained on a little card handed to us in the key folder. It was. But for the fee this hotel charges, I think it is reasonable to expect that this be expressed verbally at check-in which it wasn't. The breakfast was good. The rate this hotel charges is exorbitant. It was 75% more than our normal "upper limit". We only booked this place because we were late doing so and it was the only one we could find. For this price, I expected a lot more.

The hotel location is fantastic, and it’s installations are really good. Unfortunately the service is not as good. The first day at the breakfast it was chaos, even though one had to inform at what time one was planning to have breakfast during check in, no one was checking the booked times at the restaurant and the tables were busy or full of dirty dishes no one was picking. The items at the breakfast buffet were not replaced once they were finished, one was forced to point to the personnel to clean a table so we could sit and to bring new things to the buffet. Then there was not booking for us for dinner the second night, and we got very little help at the reception (to begin with) to arrange the booking for the third dinner. One exception to this was the personnel at the Spa, they were extremely professional with a lot of attention to detail, keeping everything organized at all times, very good experience at the spa. Unfortunately it was not the case at the rest of the hotel, which it is a shame.

I booked a few days with my daughter to celebrate her birthday and was extremely disappointed with the reception staff’s rudeness and incompetence. It is such a shame to put people with no sense of service at the front desk of a hotel like this.

We enjoyed our stay at Marstrands havshotell. The staff were great, and the new restaurant the same. Minus was the spa, that we thought needs a reference, and also that there were a a rehabclass in the middle of our spatime.
