Hotel is so pretty and the view is stunning when you open the door. Matera is one of my favourite cities in Italy. Worth to stay at this hotel when visiting Matera and then you must be impressed by the city atmosphere. Next time I will stay at least for 2 nights to explore the city. What’s more, hotel staff introduced us one nearby restaurant which was so yummy. Thanks so much for her recommendation.

The hotel is located in the ancient city of Matera. The hotel's lobby, restaurant, and guest rooms are all designed with the original characteristics of the cave. When I open the wooden windows in the room, I can see the landmark architectural landscape of the ancient cave city. The room is fully heated. If it is time If enough, you can make an appointment for a SPA. It is very convenient to go out and visit the ancient city.

The facilities are new, but the stay experience is average.

The suite is large, new and clean. It is on the hillside overlooking the entire Matera. The location is excellent, and it is very close to everything.

Aquatio is a very special and unique place in Matera. In the world, in fact. We’ve never felt so immersed in culture, history and luxury. This place will stir your soul. Fabulous rooms, staff and facilities immersed in the heart of the Sassi. We feel very fortunate to have stayed here.

Such a unique hotel- our room was large with private balcony. Staff were so kind and spa is amazing!

The hotel is lovely and the staff wonderful. We were "upgraded" to a terrace room, which unfortunately was not a cave room as we had hoped to stay in. The hotel is named Cave Luxury Hotel after all.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, where authenticity resonates in every corner. The premises were immaculate, reflecting a high standard of cleanliness. The spa was an extraordinary retreat, offering a unique escape, making our stay even more delightful. This hotel epitomises an authentic Matera experience, something we earnestly yearned for and thoroughly enjoyed. The hospitality was exemplary, especially owing to Roberta, who welcomed us warmly upon check-in. Her organisation and coordination of our needs were impeccable, showcasing a caliber of professionalism akin to a five-star setting. We left with nothing but fond memories and a strong desire to return. The experience was absolutely rewarding, and we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for a genuine Matera encounter.

The Aquatio hotel was so amazing!! Who knew staying in a cave would be the highlight of our trip!❤️ It was in a great location in the village, walkable to everything! The hotel was beautiful, clean and the staff as so attentive and helpful (unlike other places we have stayed in Italy!) I highly recommend staying in this unique hotel!!

This was a very unique property designed and built as if you were in a Cave. Not as claustrophobic as might imagine, however the room was very warm as we were experiencing a HOT period during our stay. The A/C was not able to keep up with the temperatures which made sleeping difficult! That said, other than that it was an interesting City. I can say I've been there, however once would be enough.

We loved the property the staff were amazing. Loved the whats app ability to contact. The room upgrade was much appreciated. Hotel in excellent location!
