Nice stay and helpful staff, but for one person at the reception who doesn't seem to know what hospitality means. Very clean and confortable room, good breakfast buffet, though dinner buffet is sometimes of lesser quality. The staff is overally very nice, I recommend to stay there if you have a rental car, or you prefer to stay and relax by the pool or beach.

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in June 2026. The receptionist who checked me in showed excellent customer service skills. I was given a welcome drink and a cold towel on arrival. She upgraded my booking to a Deluxe room, gave me a brief tour of the hotel grounds and showed me to my room. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious and well furnished with plenty of storage space. All appliances in the room were in good working order. The view from the bedroom balcony was beautiful looking out across the hotel grounds and towards the sea. The room was serviced every morning. The hotel was very compact with all amenities within close proximity. All the staff whom I came into contact with were friendly and helpful. In the early part of my holiday I mentioned to one of the staff that I liked Indian food. At dinner that night I was served with a curry and Indian bread made specially for me. A really nice gesture, very much appreciated. The food was varied, tasty and well presented. The cocktails at the bar were probably the best I have had on my travels. The Bloody Mary being exceptionally good. Musical entertainment was provided most nights, which was quite good. The hotel grounds and gardens were very well maintained. For a relaxing holiday in nice surroundings, I would certainly recommend this hotel. Room 220.

Me and my brother are on our last day of our 11 night stay at the jalsa beach hotel and spa. First I have to say a big thanks to all the staff and I mean all the staff from the gardeners to the cleaners to every one who have been amazing since we walked into reception they have all been great always greeted with a smile. The hotel itself is a little bit on the tired side but is always clean and tidy. Our room was spacious and tidy. The beach is on the small side and very shallow but is very nice to paddle in. There are some water sports on offer mainly kayaking or pedalos you can also hire a glass bottom boat and a fishing trip from the beach hut ( you can also book day trips there too) The pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds just on the windy side but that could be just seasonal. Food here it not like other all inclusive I've been to there is a small selection every night with different themes but everything is fresh and well cooked aways found enough to eat. if your expecting a large buffet with lots of choice this hotel is not for you. Drinks are good once again not a large selection but plenty to enjoy. Overall great hotel for a quite relaxing stay. would I come again yes

I enjoyed my stay very much with friendly atmosphere and very nice and helpful people. All the staff is great and I really recommend this hotel for people who are not looking for crowded party pool. By the boat house at the beach you can find beach staff who arrange wonderful activities in and outside of the hotel area. Snorkling boat has a window bottom so you can see the sea on your way to snorkling. Thank you for the boat trip and snorkling day Youdish Seamen and all the helpfulness and advices that were important to make me feel safe and peaceful. I enjoyed every conversation with a professional attitude Youdish Seamen had in his job. Thank you Sonali making my days nice and tidy and homealike room. Thank you Annecy for the dance and fun in hotel activities. Omelette guy in the restaurant made my every morning with a friendly smile. So sad I cannot mension everyone of the staff by name but I would thank every single one.

Should be superb, beautiful location on a beautiful island. The rooms are great. But…….. The food is hit and miss, very worried about hygiene standards. The restaurant is dirty, the fridge where fish salads are stored is not suitable, temperature is not sufficient to keep bacterial growth at bay. Selection not great. Also…….. The entertainment is pathetic, so awfully poor, no options beside the insanely noisy bar. This hotel management does not seem to understand they are providing a customer experience, it’s more this is what we do, put up with it. From a business professional who works in the customer service industry, you need to listen to your customers and base what you provide around your customers needs.

Stayed here for 7 nights in July 2026. The place is roughly 60 km from the airport, on the north-east coast of the island. Experience: 1. Check-in: was smooth and we were given an early check-in at 11:00 am. We had to pay €3 per person per night tourism tax upfront. 2. Staff: the staff is really courteous and polite, be it the reception, caretakers, waiters, restaurant cooks. The service was quick, with a smiling face whenever a need arose. 3. Property: It is well built, with a big campus, swimming pool, beach and other facilities. The beach area is pretty small, and you would rather prefer to walk around the shallow waters, then sit at the beach honestly. 4. Rooms: Decent rooms, nothing great. The Deluxe rooms with balcony have a good view, so better take one on higher floors (2nd if possible). Furnishing in room is decent again, nothing great, but you wont miss a thing as well. 5. Nearby: This was a big con for us, since there is not even a single shop nearby at walking distance to buy basic utilities or snacking. A beach nearby is all you have, or else you have to rent a bike or cycle to go 2-4 kms to nearby market, which will have cost and time implications. 6. Food: It is decent, however, if you are fond of Indian Food, you will be disappointed. It did not fit well with our taste and appetite, and it overall became dull over our 7 nights of stay. However, apart from Buffet, the one we ordered outside our regular room rent package, like pizza or fried rice, was still far better in taste. 7. Ambience: peaceful and full of birds chirping around you, especially your food table. Apart from weekend, there was not much crowd, and hence the place felt very calm. Overall, Mauritius is full of hotels and resorts, and definitely you can find good or better options if you explore. Personally, the place gave us a good experience overall, and I wont mind recommending it to other fellow travellers. However, do look out for other options in the same price range for better decisions.

Just returned from Jalsa hotel. Positives first the location is very nice and we found the staff brilliant and very friendly. We booked through Mercury holidays and the rep we had was Rama and he was fantastic. We hired a car for two days to explore the island and driving was easy as they drive on the left. Negatives The whole place needs renovating. The phone in the room didn’t work. We and the rep had to ask the hotel three times to try and get hot water because at best it was Luke warm. The food was bland and tasteless and one day we were actually served raw chicken. At the back of the hotel there are dogs and they barked all hours of the day and night and roamed around the grounds of the hotel searching for food, we counted 12 dogs there at one point. my partner was fishing and had some bait and when he turned round one of the dogs had taken his bag with the bait in and all his fishing equipment which we tried to find but couldn’t get in the compound so a lot of money was lost because of the dogs, hotel said there was nothing they could do but I would hate to think that they could attack a child if it was eating around the pool. Entertainment was poor but the two girls did their best but the hotel was rather empty most of the time. There was a singer on most nights but only a few people there. The bar closes at 11 o’clock. TV only had two channels one being BBC news and the other football, both things we wanted to get away from but the weather wasn’t kind as it is there winter so we wanted to watch something on TV so I recommend you take a fire stick or similar. The hotel was listed as 3* but I would be kind to say it was more like a 2*. There are toiletries in the room but no conditioners so make sure you take some with you. Sorry to say this is one hotel we would never go back to.

Third time visit and it just gets better every time, Every member of staff just make us feel so welcome and it’s so personal. This time I did all my own arrangements and the reservations team just made it so simple. When we arrived it was like we was visiting family the welcome from everyone was so special. The room again was lovely and the bed is massive and housekeeping were always asking us if we had any problems just say but we never had , oh apart from after the trees were cut we woke to find a spider (bigger than uk but not dangerous) and we are not fans so they dealt with it straight away. We have always enjoyed the food and this year it was even better. But for us the icing on the cake was they arranged a romantic dinner on the beach for our last night and it was fantastic. Definitely will be back as soon as we can
