"Just spent 12 wonderful nights at the charming 20 Degres Sud. We had a beach front room with a terrace and it was a joy to be so few steps from the ocean. The beach itself is relatively small but feels spacious and there was always plenty of available sunbeds. The free boat across to Grand Baie was really handy and a fun way to pop into town. We were on the half board package and the food was excellent. There was a good range of choice and we particularly enjoyed the curries. We went out for dinner on a couple of occassions so we swapped dinner for lunch, which was a simpler menu as you would expect, but nevertheless very good. However, the thing that made this such a memorable stay was the staff. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and just couldn't do enough for you. The was the case throughout the hotel, from housekeeping, to waterports, to reception, and we particularly enjoyed the service and company of the guys in the bar and restaurant. There are just too many names to mention individually. Overall, this is an exceptional boutique hotel in a great location, and we will defintely be returning at somepoint hopefully in the not too disant future."

"Overall, it is a very good hotel. The suite has 2 single beds and 1 double bed. It is no problem for a family of four, and there is no additional charge for 2 children under 16 years old in this room type, including breakfast, but breakfast is not included. It's too suitable for East Asian tastes. Dinner is a little better, just a little bit. We lost a child's schoolbag at the airport in Mauritius, and there were valuables inside. We thought we couldn't find it, but the Intercontinental front desk guy helped us contact the airport police station, and the schoolbag was recovered, which was very NICE. It was a bit unpleasant to check out later. More than a thousand euros were deducted from me. After negotiation, it was refunded to my account after returning to China. Overall, it was perfect. Ctrip officials were also very helpful!"

"The hotel's value for money is excellent for a four-star hotel. Just around the right turn from the hotel is one of the best beaches on the island, with a small section of reef for snorkeling. The food was great; you could find everything you need. I wasn't particularly impressed with the a la carte restaurants, except for the steakhouse, but it's hard to get a reservation. I didn't like the Indian restaurant at all. The entertainment was also rather modest, but we don't go to those "shows" anyway; it's fine for us. The room was clean, and if you request it in the app, they'll bring you anything you might need, even slippers and a toothbrush. There are some downsides, of course: the glasses at the pool bar are a bit tacky, and the towels you get in the room and on the beach are sometimes threadbare, but that's if you're really looking for something to complain about. There's absolutely nowhere to go in the area on foot. Overall, everything met our expectations. We had a great time."

"I don't recommend it if you're here for vacation, because there are a lot of ants here, the sound insulation is very poor, there's a village around, if you're near the beach, there will be villagers playing loud music at night, it takes a long time to quiet down, if you're just here to chase dolphins or surf, you can stay for one or two nights, it's not recommended to stay for a long time, it's far from the center of Port Louis, the experience is average, the staff are friendly"

"Cons - Dishwasher didn’t work - Beds are very hard - We had to get blanket replaced as it had mould all over it - Water only provided on first day - Hair in the shower and all over basin - One bathroom sink was blocked - Rips in curtain - No extra pillows - Safe didn’t work - aircons only on bedrooms - no alcohol by the pool. Glass by the pool and disorderly behavior, I understand. But not being able to enjoy a can of beer by the pool is unreasonable. - not their fault, but the beach out the front is not a swimming beach. - was only sent information about on door dining after we’d checked in. That would have been very helpful to know before we checked in as we got in late and could have arranged for meals for the children for the first might. Pros - a nice view - pool was nice - two bathrooms is great for families - one parking spot - the blanket was replaced quickly - a well stocked kitchen - the restaurant across the road was great"

"A spot close to Trou aux Biches beach for a swim or sunset is a real plus if you don't want to use a car 😊. The bus stop is just steps away for exploring this wonderful island. Regarding the hotel, I stayed at the Résidence Les Palmistes, which is also just a short walk away (plus a small pool to cool off in), while enjoying the hotel's buffet and activities – excellent 👍. My room was spacious and spotlessly clean. I met some fabulous people during my evenings there, where the great atmosphere has led to lasting friendships. The buffet is decent, with new dishes every day and attentive servers who are just like their managers. I took an excursion with the Chamarel Hotel, which was very good – I have no regrets!"
