Hotel Dorado la 70

Laureles - Estadio Medellin|0.32km from MAKRO SUPERMAYORISTA S.A
Three men walked into my room during my stay unannounced while two of my roommates were undressed and hotel management won’t do anything about it!! I rented 9 hotel rooms and a conference room at Hotel Dorado for 30 leaders of my nonprofit org for 4 days. On day 2 of our stay a mysterious man bolted into our room unannounced and saw my roommate completely undressed. Why would someone outside of our party could have access to our room!? We went to hotel managers Joanna and Marco and they won’t do a single thing about it. They tell us it is not a big deal just “a matter of perspective”. Shortly after reporting this, Marco charged into our room with another man behind him completely unannounced, didn’t knock, just opened the door while yet ANOTHER girl was undressing and would not leave the room claiming he is trying to “fix the problem”. Marco and Joanna need to be fired! At this point all the girls in my organization were scared, some were crying, we all felt completely UNSAFE. The management was harassing us. They have camera’s on every floor and when we asked they claim there is no footage of these events (how convenient!!!) so now we are filing suit against them so they can release the footage to us. On top of all of this mental &emotional trauma my girls went through,I spent over $3,000 for hotel rooms, conference room, and hotel catering and the hotel won’t refund us for the services and rooms we didn’t use after the incidents. This would be THE VERY LEAST they can do.

The staff were welcoming, especially the restaurant service staff, who were attentive and attentive. The room was clean and tidy and well equipped. There are many restaurants around and supermarkets. The transportation is convenient, and there is a light rail for three minutes on foot. I also asked a Colombian barber to cut my hair nearby. The hotel can contact the airport to pick you up. The price is slightly more than 30 yuan more than a taxi, but it is safe and reliable, especially if you arrive late at night like me and do not know Spanish.

Me and a few friends had several rooms in this property near the beginning of the school year. Especially during a pandemic, I was beyond impressed with the level and extent of preparation at this hotel which far exceeded anything I have ever seen in the United States. At the front desk, I found a Laura and Maria, who helped oversee the missing, handwashing, and constant mopping with alcohol of the floors. This felt safer than a hospital. Because of the lockdown that was present, they helped identify safe food delivery services as well as offering the open air cafe for coffee. Again, everything was socially distanced and perfectly run. The room itself was also fantastic with a great view. Armed with climate control, a comfortable bed, and again not a speck of dust or COVID-19 in sight, it was the most comfortable place I could imagine to rest after a season of disrupted travel. As a country, Colombia is doing a fantastic job of respecting the quarantine and keeping their citizens safe. As a standard, what I witnessed in this hotel should be considered the top.
