The location of the hotel is very good, with a very nice view and with many restaurants next to the port. It is a bit difficult to get there, yes, and it is likely that in high season it will be very difficult to park. Remarkable breakfast. The courtesy shower on the last day in the afternoon is a great detail to make the most of the day of departure. The service very attentive.

We have just returned from two glorious weeks at this lovely hotel. We had a beautiful room overlooking the start of the estuary and the Isle de Rei. The morning sunrise was just fabulous! I had read before my visit that although the walk-in showers had been completed, the rooms themselves needed a refurbish. Well the bathroom is lovely. You have shampoo, bath wash and gorgeous body milk. Beautiful shower area. Such a delight! Yes, the rooms are looking well worn, but my only criticism would be lack of drawer space. If you are staying for two weeks it can be tricky to keep your clothes ‘tidy’ all piled up in the wardrobe. The hotel is blessed with the most wonderful happy staff! Thank you to all we met who enhanced our stay with their positive attitude. Special mention has to go though to Harold at the bar. A true professional! His cocktails never disappointed ! The food in the dining room was really good when we arrived. Lots of choice and of a very good quality. Towards the end of our stay, when numbers dwindled, there was still a great display of Menorcan foods, meats and cheeses. The soup was divine, and the different breads just lovely. Salads were plentiful and varied, and the puddings were scrumptious! There was still always something tasty and different to choose every evening. The chefs were continually checking the food and replacing it when necessary. Cleo and Alexander were great hosts. There was low key entertainment twice a week. Good singers, and we particularly loved the jazz trio on the last evening. They put their own take on many popular songs and did it very well. Es Castell is full of history, and we enjoyed visiting Mahon. You can either walk for about 15 to 20 mins, or catch a bus into the station. From here you can use the buses to visit other places very easily. Or walk down into the town and take in all the sights! There is a fish market and attached to it an area which does tapas and all different kinds fishy snacks. On our last Saturday there was music and it made for a lovely atmosphere. Would we return to the Agamemon? Certainly we will! The views are a delight, always something different going on.

Just had a wonderful weeks holiday via Jet2 at the lovely traditional Port Mahon Hotel which I first visited over 50 years ago. Prior to arriving I was offered an upgrade to a suite with balcony and sea view at modest cost which I gladly accepted. I enjoyed amazing views over the estuary, watching the big ships and colourful sunrises. Only negative was why the shower controller was 2 metres away from the shower head? Makes temperature control difficult & wastes water. The breakfast buffet was over 15M long offering everything you could wish for from fresh fruit, continental breakfast to full English. Service was swift. I did a lot of walking around Mahon and used the buses to visit Cuitadella, Fornells & Es Casteel, also the town train around Mahon and the glass bottomed boat for the harbour cruise. The Hotel is a great base for touring. I am planning to return again to Port Mahon Hotel next March when Jet2 start flying from Liverpool (more convenient). In summary, the Port Mahon Hotel exceeded my expectations and any thanks to Silvia on reception for helping with my arrangements. *** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED***

From Mahon Airport, bus L10 is a quick ride to bus station. Short walk to this modern 4* eco-aware hotel. Friendly welcome, comfortable quiet room with free coffee/tea, water refill, Wi-Fi etc. Very good buffet breakfast; and there's a lounge with complimentary beer & wine plus free snacks from 3pm. Pleasant stroll to main sites in the old town and you can even walk to one of the ancient Talayotic sites, Trepuco, which is free to visit. With the bus station so near the hotel, it's easy to take a day trip to former capital Ciutadella or nearby ex-garrison town Es Castell. Plenty of eateries in Mahon, and there's even a gin distillery with wide variety to sample.

Overall, a good value place to stay. As other reviews have said, the decor is a little dated, but perfectly acceptable, and the apartment was as clean as one would hope. End of June was unexpectedly quiet, but in a good way. Bus to Mahon runs hourly from the bottom of the road (5 mins walk) and is Euro 1.80 each way. Plenty of space to park if you hire a car. Some great restaurants in the town (recommend Casa Fermin) and a great beach. Only minor issue was the air-con wasn't great, but hey ... it's 32 degrees in June in the Med ... so we knew what to expect. Breeze through the apartment cooled it in the day, just a bit warm overnight. Would definitely go back.

We have been to Galdana Gardens several times over the years, and we had a very enjoyable and relaxing break. We were fortunate to have a top floor apartment this time and well worth going up the steps for the wonderful view of the bay. The Gardens are superb, and the guys who maintain them are brilliant 👏 Maite on reception is just superb 👌 The cleaning ladies are great 👍 Just great. I will bring up the towel reserving issue as it's a problem. 9am towels down and return at 3pm and even reserving 4 sunbeds for 2 people on either side of the pool... If you can't beat them, join them... which we didn't But hey, hoy. Great place and location.

Just back from a really pleasant week at this lovely modern hotel. We were originally assigned a room overlooking the sister hotel (Petit Sagitario) but asked to move pool view room. We got a top floor room overlooking the pool in a couple of days with a sea view..fantastic. Room was very comfortable with all the things expected in a 4 star hotel. My wife and I used the Spa and she declared her treatment was amazing. Pool area and bar were excellent with plenty of sunbeds. The public area of the hotel were super clean and very attractive. Staff were always incredibly helpful. We had half board and had breakfast and dinner nearly every day. Breakfast was good once we worked out where everything was...a little confusing at first. Dinner options were varied and we had some nice but not spectacular meals. Drinks not over the top prices for a hotel. Other reviews mention cool food and I have to back this up particularly at breakfast. Did not spoil our experience but hence the 4 star review. Would go back in an instant though but would make sure I get a Pool view room.

A total success this hotel. Quality price very good. Very clean everything. The service very attentive. The unbeatable location since it is located in the center of the island and allows you to move everywhere in a short time. On the last day, as you have to leave the hotel in the morning, they give you the option to store your bags and take a shower if you have a flight in the afternoon/evening.
