Relais & Chateaux Hotel Castel Fragsburg

We stayed at the hotel for our son’s wedding which was in the castle next door. It was the most amazing experience. The views are breathtaking and the hotel has the highest standards we have enjoyed. The food in the restaurant is beautifully presented and delicious. All the staff are friendly and attentive . Treat yourself to a stay here if you can!

This was our third time in less than 2 years. We spent part of 40th anniversary trip and the place only gets better. They make you feel like you are at home, if your home had a dozen wonderful staff. Everything is fantastic, food, wine, spa, rooms public spaces, the gorgeous alpine setting and the amazing service. We have been to some great resorts and hotels, but Fragsburg is number one in our book.

We loved our stay! Hotel and setting are so lovely. Really enjoyed excellent cocktails at the cozy bar with the skillful and pleasant bartender. The breakfast was excellent. A dinner choice with fewer courses as an alternative to the one with so many would be a good idea. We were sad when it was time to leave!

The hotel is a wonderful facility. The staff is efficient and accommodating. The food is excellent, the setting enchanting and the views marvelous. Breakfast was a real treat; and dinner never disappointed. Our stay was an uninterrupted pleasure.

The staff at the hotel and the restaurant are the nicest and most accommodating people I've encountered in over 50 years of traveling. The hotel is charming -- lovely common rooms and dining areas, gardens and nice size pool, not to mention the medieval castle directly above it and the lovely waterfall a 20 minute walk away. The rooms and dining areas (outdoors and in) look out onto the valley below and mountains on the other side, making the 10 minute drive up a windy road with hairpin turns worth the effort. I stayed in Room 220, which was large, with a small sitting area and desk as well as a small balcony. My adult daughter stayed in 215, which was an even nicer small suite. There are only 20 rooms/suites in the hotel. The half board had many gourmet treats and was good value. An a la carte menu was also available. For those with the means, a 12 seat Michelin starred restaurant is on the premises. The chef oversees the other restaurant too. Nearby, there is some nice hiking at about 6000 feet (a gondola ride gets you to the top), very extensive gardens (Trauttmansdorff Castle) and the the town of Merano with a beautiful church) but this is not the heart of the Dolomite hiking paradise.

Wonderful Hotel off the beaten track. Service quality and food 9 out of 10. Nice rooms, wonderful nature and yet close to the lovely town of Merano. Recommendable for couples, long weekends and people who want to switch off. Breakfast selection was a delight. Front desk staff very kind, efficient and helpful. Only small minus is that the rooms can be modernised a bit without losing their charm at all

Returning to this beautiful place is such a treat. We had a very nice room for 2 nights and enjoyed an outstanding dinner at the gourmet restaurant. A very memorable event was created. We used the hotel supplied e-bikesvand and had a fabulous stay. Thank you

I almost hate to write a review this place was so good. I don’t want it booked the next time we visit. Seriously though, it was great. It is an awesome place in magical setting. The staff was all so friendly and helpful. The food was awesome. I only have good things to say. Although not cheap, it’s a great value for what you get.

What amazing people. The service was unmatched, the views are incredible. Absolutely must for a relaxing vacation. The spa is unreal also, must see.
