Cumbria Hotel

Just arrived back from the Cumbria Guest House, only intended to stay for 2 days but was so chilled I extended my stay for a further 2 days. It's a budget hotel, so be mindful of that...but the location is amazing and the hosts are fabulous and very attentive. The price includes a wonderful continental breakfast and an upgrade to a full breakfast at an additional charge should you wish too! I will be coming back for sure.

Loved my stay here, nice comfy bed, room cosy and a warm welcome of Diane Great choice of breakfasts and option to upgrade to a cooked breakfast. A shortwalk to st annes along the prom or into ansdell and fairhaven the opposite way. Will stay again.

The guest house was clean and rooms we had were very good. Well provided with facilities we need, Internet was very good, lots of pillows and the bed was very soft made me and my children really sleep well and the big wide TV in the double room gave us a fun movie experience as well. The Free breakfast in buffet style I loved that very much for it gave us plenty of options to eat and drink on top of the toast and spreads and tea and coffee. Then, we had the option to upgrade to Full English breakfast for just £5 additional. To be honest, the Free provision at breakfast was already nice and fulfilling. I love the atmosphere of the house as it was very welcoming with very friendly hosts giving us great service. We felt very safe inside and outside in the neighbourhood and community. The seaside was clean and offers fantastic views with its wide sand and plenty long lovely stretch to walk along. The promenade offered lovely rides, shops selling lovely treats, plenty of areas to play and stay and have fun and all just easy walk from Cumbria guest house! I am very excited to come back again!

The room and facilities were as advertised, the manager called me a couple of hours prior to my arrival to confirm my arrival time. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile and the heating in my room had been put on so that I was warm (it was freezing outside). The room was cosy, with a small en-suite, however given the price I paid it was great. Hot water was readily available and the shower was powerful enough. The bed was comfortable and not too bad to sleep in (given the trouble I have sleeping), the only minor issue was the length of time the extractor fans ran in my room and the room adjacent whilst trying to sleep (however I have trouble sleeping so it might just be me). The English Breakfast in the morning was nice and the dining room was pleasant. There is a shared room for guests which was comfortably furnished which I had a quick look at but didn’t use. Please note that this isn’t the Ritz, it’s a semidetached Victorian house whose street runs perpendicular to the beach (which is a couple hundred metres away), that said for what I paid the facilities were excellent and I got a reasonable sleep and a decent breakfast, and a friendly manager. I would knock half a star off because of the extractor fans, however that would probably be unfair.

Great B&B, but will not be returning. Second visit with my grandson for half term. Last year was problem free and had a lovely stay. However this year although everywhere is clean and tidy, including the room. On entering room there was a strong smell of dog! Having read the information it does state pet friendly, so my fault for not reading it properly, I would never stay in a pet friendly establishment. The breakfast at £5 extra each for cooked breakfast is very nice. I was a little surprised that my 9 year old grandson was classed as an adult breakfast! Child full breakfast is £3.50. Not much, but still not right, in my opinion. To conclude, I recommend this B&B. Especially if you have a dog!

Really lovely place x not modern but has everything you need and cute optional extras. We would definitely return x

Friendly. Clean. Ideal for the beach. Buses just around the corner. Breakfast excellent. Highly recommended.

Booked for 2 nights with my Son, on arrival we extended to 3 nights. Great location, Doug & Diane are great hosts, great breakfast upgrade. We have stayed here before, will definitely stay here again!

This was a wonderful find. A large room for 3 of us. Very comfortable beds. Nice shower. Had a cooked breakfast which was well worth the money. Super hosts. I will be back again with the boys. Location was perfect.
