It was a real pleasure staying at Hotel Chalet Blanc. From the warm welcome at check in to the outstanding job by Vince the bar tender for after dinner drinks. Facility was extremely clean and has great a**osphere. Rooms very comfortable with great views. Ski in/out was best I have ever had. Just literally 10 steps from the lockers to lift. We purchased the food plan for Breakfast and Dinner and it was totally worth it. The meals were outstanding and Francois was very very good with the wine selection and telling us about the wine. The spa was very good as well, the steam room and hot tub we enjoyed. Had a 2 hour massage, so relaxing!

Great family skiing holiday at this fantastic, stylish hotel. Perfectly located at the end of the main street, 2 minute walk to the Pharo slope. The most amazing thing about this hotel is the friendly staff- all very helpful, speaking great English for those whose French is very rusty. Lovely decor in the main bar area with pool table and table football, whole hotel very warm with a cosy real fire in the lounge. Heated boot and ski storage lockers. Kettle and mini fridge in the room, with loads of wardrobe space and lovely warm bath and shower. Quiet at night and comfy beds. Only thing which didn’t suit us as a family with teenagers was the food- the menu of the day has very limited choice and virtually no vegetables. I’m sure those without picky eaters will find the food great though. Breakfast was perfect. We loved it here and can’t wait to return!

Just completed a fabulous stay with our two children. It is a terrific value - a fraction of the price of hotels at fancier French resorts but equally nice, if not more so! The hotel is located in the Hameau de l'Obelisque enclave of Montgenevre where there are a few small upscale hotels that are a bit nicer than those in other parts of the town, although everything is close together and you can walk from one of end the village to the other in 10 minutes. The hotel is a true ski-in/ski-out, although we choose to walk 5 minutes to the other side of the pistes and skied back at the end of the day. The staff at the hotel (front desk, restaurant, housekeeping) were all extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were nicely decorated, modern but still chalet-style, and everything looked brand new (the hotel is three years old). Breakfast was a real highlight - diverse offerings and high quality. We also enjoyed the pool table and the giant foosball/mini foot table that could accommodate 6-8 players - lots of fun with our kids. The only downside was the spa - they offer a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, all of which were fine, but were in an enclosed space rather than outdoors or with any windows, which was a bit disappointing. That said, they said they've got the permits for and will start working on an outdoor pool area next year. (Note to the hotel: The spa area is extremely slippery - we saw several people slip and did ourselves as well). Other thoughts for people considering this hotel and Montgenevre in general: The ski resort itself is huge, even if you don't go all the way to Sestriere (which was about 1 hour by several lifts). The resort is also high and the snow at the top was very good even if snow at the bottom was pretty bad this week - it didn't spoil our skiing at all because there's so much terrain up high. In France, we've skied at Val d'Isere, Courchevel, Megeve and some smaller resorts, but Montgenevre is by far the best value - excellent skiing and accommodations without the ridiculous price tag. That said, if you're looking for apres-ski, gourmet restaurants and designer shops, you won't find them here.

Great location right next to a lift and could ski back if there was enough snow and able to find a route from the other side of the valley. Very friendly service, clean rooms and comfy beds. Rooms were a little hot overnight and no obvious way of turning the temperature down (although we didn't ask). Excellent breakfast with fresh pastries and croissants. Nice touches like ski lockers and complimentary water bottles.

Just returned from a lovely stay at Hotel Le Chalet Blanc. We originally booked room only but upgraded to half board on check in for 54 euro PP which was a good move as both breakfast and evening meals were fab! The only slight negative was the drinks prices were fairly hefty and some reasonably priced wines wouldn’t go a miss. Our room was fairly small but beautifully decorated and we had a nice balcony to sit on. The bed was huge and very comfy. It was easy to get on to the slopes in the morning, just walk out of the ski room and just behind the hotel there is a button lift which is an easy ski down to the Chalvet gondola. Overall, this is a great hotel in one of our favourite resorts and we’ll definitely be back.

Lovely charming hotel, in a beautiful charming ski resort. Did not disappoint on any level. Amazing food, was like master chef every evening, and a large selection at breakfast. Rooms were clean and the beds so comfortable was like sleeping on clouds. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Spa area was small but ok. As was the boot room. I cant wait to go back. Ski in/Out. Perfect location.

On arrival the hotel was very cosy, clean and well decorated. The housekeeping team obviously work very hard and kudos to them as the room was always spotless. The bathroom lacked toiletries, no shower gel/shower cap etc that you would expect in a higher end hotel. The spa: the jacuzzi was not working on arrival. We did use the saunas and steam room which was nice, just a shame they didn’t get the jacuzzi working for any of our week stay. Having to pay 5€ each for a pair of slippers is rather ridiculous too as this is often a default necessity for any hotel I have ever stayed in. The main downfall for this hotel was the food. The half board choice is VERY limited with only two choices for the main meal. On arrival I made the waiting staff aware that I was vegetarian, this seemed to cause a bit of havoc for the kitchen and staff. I felt like I was asking for the impossible, in this day and age you would expect a vegetarian/vegan option as default. When I was told the vegetarian option for each evening meal it seemed to be made up on the spot and just what ever was left over ingredients from the other dishes. I had ONE choice each night, most of these nights was the option of cauliflower purée and vegetables. Eventually we had to go out for two nights because there was only so many nights I could have purée food or wok vegetables. This is not ideal after a day out skiing and being ravenous. I would like to add that the bar staff were attentive and the cocktails were lovely, they were also very helpful about the skiing and always warm and welcoming. On the whole, this is a really nice hotel in a great location, if the above points were addressed it would significantly improve the luxury experience.

We stayed 04/04/11 to 11/04/11. I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to do so because we had such a wonderful stay. Staff were friendly, helpful and always had a smile on their faces - particularly Marie and Aleen on reception who were always very happy to help and had a good understanding of my terrible French and somewhat Northern English accent. It's a cosy, boutique hotel - lots of natural wood and materials, very eco friendly in design (you even have 'soap bar' shampoo to save countless bottles of plastic going to waste. Rooms were big enough, without being huge, comfortably sleeping 3 of us in the double floor room (second floor only) and my other 2 kids in a single room (which I believe also doubles as an adjoining room). The rooms also had small balconies which provided excellent views of the mountains and the ski slopes beyond. There's fresh coffee (with a cafetiere and a kettle) and water provided every day - but you can bring in your own stuff and store in it in the fridge. The on-site restaurant has a fabulous selection on the a la carte menu (there's also a daily set menu with fish, meat, etc options), with locally sourced, fresh produce. Breakfast is served daily - although we stayed on a room-only basis, we popped down to take a look and it all seemed very good. There's even a mini spa with a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and showers which makes for a perfect end to a fantastic days' skilling on the slops of Montgenevre. I would happily recommend friends and family to visit - certainly those with kids and less experienced ski-ers. The resort of Montgenevre itself is compact and very cosy with a wide selection of restaurants - but won't appeal much to those 'apres ski' lovers due to the overarching 'family' feel to the resort. Overall, a fabulous hotel with lots of potential to get even better. Would highly recommend!

Accomodation, facilities and staff were all excellent. Good breakfast. Dinner and Bar prices very expensive.
