This was the 3rd time Trip Advisor reviews have been somewhat worrying about an upcoming trip, and the 3rd time we’ve had an amazing time! If you read the resort’s policies and fees ahead of time, you won’t be surprised when you get there. Yes there were fees for things; $20 per “toy” (boat, ATV) and marina storage fees. If you weren’t staying at the resort, you had to pay a $35 day fee to beach your boat and hang out on the property. I totally understand why they do that, since you’re using their bathrooms and hopefully, their garbage cans. We had an amazing time! Our two sets of neighbors were respectful of quiet hours, security and office staff were friendly and helpful. The views were amazing, the restaurant was delicious (I highly recommend any of their drinks on the “Bucket List”), and the store had a great selection. After this trip, we’ll be making it a yearly vacation. I really don’t get some of these negative reviews, but maybe we are just more laid back vacationers. Make your reservation and go!

Very nice but alot of dirt walking around. Right on the water. The bar crowded and expensive. Gas expensive too! My friend was bitten by a scorpion on her foot. Very painful! Fun place to come too!

Our third visit here to eat. Stopped on a Thursday and it was quiet compared to our other visits during events or weekends. We had great service and the food was good again. Relaxing being able to see the water, boats and wildlife.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE. If you take one thing away from this review, let it be this: DON’T SIGN ANYTHING until you physically go look at your RV site! I lost $600 because of their horrible “no refunds for any reason” policy. This “RV Park” is TERRIBLE. Literally go anywhere else if you care about your RV. I booked a week at this park in a 36’ class A and I left after the first night because it was SO BAD. They only have 30 amp service in their beat-up parking-lot-of-an-RV-park at the front of the grounds next to the rundown mobile homes and shoddy playground. The peninsula camp spots are 50 amp, but they are deep sand and there was no way we could back in our class A at the site we had without being right on the edge of the little cliff. I NEVER would have prebooked had I known how bad it was. I would also never take kids there again. The roads are awful! It is not just potholes, it’s as if the entire road was torn up by a jack hammer and then left there. Loose gravel everywhere, sides of the road are completely torn apart. All the stuff in the RV that survived the four-hour road trip came crashing down driving on the road going 2 mph within this park. My kids both fell on their bicycles and dirt bikes trying to navigate around and wanted nothing to do with this park after the first hour. Never once saw one of their “river ferries” or their resort taxis and I didn’t have cell service to call one, so I had to drive them over to the playground in my car. There was horse poop right next to the playground (3 large strewn about piles), dog poop on the “splash pad” that wasn’t running and looks like it hasn’t been running in years. (I booked the park mostly for this perk for the kids, so that was a huge disappointment). The playground flooring was torn up and hard, covered with dirty sand and the playground itself was not maintained. The horseshoe pits are right next to the playground and the metal poles are left uncovered and unmarked, so you’d better keep a close watch on your kids because within 2 seconds of coming down the slide they can impale themselves on one if you’re not watching. AND THEN, at 4:30 AM they starting running a tractor at the peninsula next to mine! I thought it was a trash truck, but the crashing kept happening and by the time the sun rose a few hours later, I saw the tractor and the dump truck doing runs moving sand! I left citing safety concerns for my kids and my RV. They didn’t care. They shrugged and said “no refunds, no exceptions.” I will tell everyone I can about how bad this place truly was. See my photos for reference, too.

Going to Pirate Cove was the best. The river has very fresh water and since it was so hot over there, it was worth swimming in the water. Also the cabins are awesome. Except for the fact the air conditioner wasn’t working, other than that Pirate Cove gave me and my family a fun family vacation

If there was a Minus 5 stars I would give the is place that rating! We checked into one of the Cabins, which I was truly pleasntly surprised how nice is was, however, I was not happy with the fact that they call this a "Resort" charging "Resort" prices and have little to no or very unaccpetable internet acess. Even more dissapointing was the restaurant-Prices, which are exhobitantly high, My wife order the Salmon steak, she received about a 4 oz portion, no vegetable, no salad, no bread -no nothing just a small piece of salmon for $29! I ordered the coconut shripm, 6 small shrimp and the sauce and that was ot $27. Don't think we'll be back until they do a whole lot of changing!
