Wyndham New Orleans - French Quarter

Canal Street New Orleans|0.13km from Magnolia Sugar & Spice Praline Kitchen & Hot Sauce Bar
The accommodations for this hotel were standard. When we arrived there was a dirty, used rubber glove on the floor in the bathroom. Some of the metal stuff was loose or falling off. The room was not pristine. It was dusty. We all have asthma so are sensitive to dust and musty air. The hotel has, I think, 18 floors and is historic in the French Quarter. We wanted to see the gun and go to Hard Rock, in walking distance, but the hotel itself was a zoo and I hated the valet parking system. Do not stay here if you want easy access to items in your vehicle. Also, the check in AND out process was lengthy and frustrating. At least an hour between the two. The valet charge is $46.00 on top of the actual hotel fee. The valet employees were young, rude and disinterested. We interrupted one as he was eating. He never said a word and didn't verbally accept my apology for interrupting. He just begrudgingly took us to our car so we could retrieve a forgotten cell phone and some snacks. This hotel cost me more time and frustration than it was worth. It was open to the public so people were just sitting, standing and leaning 360 at the check in. I HATED the 150% busyness, people and noise (even though I enjoyed our evening on Bourbon Street). I guess I expected the INSIDE of the hotel to be ”normal” and more of a Refuge from all the parranda... It was not. I will never, ever, stay hete again.

My 93 year old husband and I spent two nights at Hotel indigo last week and were very pleased with our experience. The room was nicely appointed in the bathroom was spacious though we did have an accessible room. The bed was very comfortable, especially the pillows! Every place in the hotel was very clean, and nicely appointed. We were most impressed with the Front desk staff who were so helpful, courteous, and kind. We want to do a shout out to Susanne, who couldn't have been nicer, as well as professional. The common interest hotel dining room had good food at reasonable prices. The valet parking was a bit pricey, but very convenient and the attendants were also very helpful. Just around the corner on Carondelet Street we discovered the Gallier oyster bar, which had good food at a reasonable price.

Hotel is convenient to anything in the French Quarter and easy walking distance to many attractions. Some noise from a few streets during the night in the early morning hours, but still not bad. The hotel is lovely and clean. The room we had was a king suite and it had plenty of room to relax. The bed slept fabulous.

We booked the hotel seeing that it had 4 stars, there was a pool and the amenities list said there was an oven and microwave for the room. I can tell you that when we got there we were definitely surprised and not in a good way. The pool was closed even though they put a sign on the door thanking people for staying 6 ft apart. I don’t understand how you can be 6 ft apart if you can’t even go into the pool area, let alone the pool itself. Another reason we were extremely unhappy was because we had brought frozen food expecting to be able to heat it up and there was no oven, nor a microwave in the room. For a 4 star hotel that is ridiculous! Additionally, the hotel was doing some COVID-19 relief programs which in retrospect is very nice of them due to the fact that New Orleans is a poor area, but they did not let us know about it when we booked the room and the outside the hotel was full of homeless people and others just sitting around smoking and drinking by both doors outside and roaming throughout the lobby. My husband and I were very displeased and even though the hotel was giving them food and water, they created a place where anyone could have definitely caught the virus if they aren’t careful enough or if anyone walking in had it. If we ever go back to New Orleans, we will not be staying there.

This is a fantastic place to stay in the heart of the French Quarter area. Very comfy hotel rooms with a nice bathroom and coffee making facilities inside the room. Would definitely stay again if visiting NOLA.

Conveniently located in the heart of the French Quarter in Orléans. It is the parking to be handed over to the doorman and parked in the far away garage. Going on Thanksgiving, there are too many people to stay. Breakfast was eaten at the French street outside the French street, cheap and delicious. The photo is the restaurant on the French street next to it, the breakfast is good.

The location of the hotel is good, the room is super clean and tidy, the whole hotel is in line with five points, why I didn't give five points just because the location of my room is not so good, facing the roof full of a lot of air conditioners
