Villa Manning Relais

Gorgeous gardens and property. Breakfast was fantastic—fresh frittata, rice with amazing olive oil and veggies, croissants, local cured meats and cheese, perfectly ripe melon, and amazing fresh baked breads and delectable desserts made and served by the warm and friendly Rosa. There are only 5 rooms here. Service is friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere is totally relaxing. Be sure to take a dip in the beautiful pool and spend some time relaxing under the lemon trees. It’s a perfect place to unwind and relax.

Stayed at the Villa Manning as part of a two week tour of Italy we did in April. This was the longest we stayed anywhere on that trip, and it was exactly what we needed. Perfectly positioned, just a 5 minute walk from the station and the main centre of Sorrento it was a little haven of tranquility - which an absolutely beautiful garden to sit in under the lemon trees. The room was lovely and clean; and perfect for the 4 of us with a double bed on a mezzanine and then two single beds downstairs. The real highlight of this place though is the breakfast. Rosa is an absolute gem - serving up a wonderful selection every day; including cakes she has made from lemons in the garden and a surprise item which included things like a pasta dish, something that was similar to a quiche and on the last day a carrot and peas mixture - all absolutely wonderful! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in Sorrento and have a really memorable experience

This is a different kind of review, but speaks to the integrity of Villa Manning Relais. Last September my friend and I were scheduled to leave for a three-week trip that we had been planning for six months. The day before we were to fly to Italy, I had to be taken by ambulance for emergency surgery. My traveling companion got busy cancelling all the arrangements that we had made, including a reservation at Villa Manning Relais. This place went above and beyond their standard policies to accomodate our situation. A second surgery in April should repair me enough to travel and I am hopeful that I will eventually get to rebook this lovely property.

Sorrento A hidden gem, just a five short minute walk away from Piazza Tasso (a straight, flat walk), Villa Manning Rais - a family-owned B& B - is the place to stay in Sorrento. This B&B offers five guest rooms in a very large structure, with plenty of common spaces including a breakfast room where there is an array of food every morning: deli meats and cheeses, pastries (cornetto, sfogliatelle, homemade cakes), homemade quiche, juice, cereal, fruits (cherries, bananas, apples, pears…) - and all kinds of coffee. There are elevators that connect you to various areas of this beautifully restored property…or you can take the stairs to burn those breakfast calories. We stayed in Room 1 that was extremely large by typical room standards, with a balcony as large as a bedroom with a cushioned swing and outdoor dining table. The air-conditioned room has an approximately 15-foot ceiling, make-up table, TV with Netflix, a very wide four-drawer dresser, and a pullout sofa in addition to the king-size bed. The bathroom, up a short flight of stairs (7 steps) is very large with both a spa tub and a separate shower. The hotel staff (Natalia, Valeria, Angela and Rosa) is extremely professional while also friendly and helpful. Rosa prepares the most delicious morning breakfast; the food on your table looks like it’s from an advertisement, and it’s absolutely delicious. A few mornings for breakfast we sat outside under the gazebo, surrounded by white roses, birds of paradise and other flowers, and lemon trees. One morning, Rosa prepared a bag lunch for our trip to the Amalfi Coast (for an extra fee). Valeria and Natalia answered all our questions and helped with dinner reservations and other suggestions. Angela kept our room immaculately clean on a daily basis. The garden is lush and beautiful, with a swimming lane pool. Lounge chairs dot the pool deck and the grass. Best of all, because Villa Manning Relais is not in the town center (but still very close), you avoid the crowds and their noise. If you are thinking of a trip to Sorrento, this is the place to stay…especially in Room 1. A big “grazie” to the entire staff for a perfect stay! Buona fortuna!!

We had a lovely stay in room 1 which has a great view over the garden and its own covered terrace. Large, spacious room with en suite, although that is up a short flight of stairs, as is the shower in the en suite so keep that in mind. It's a delightfully quirky place nicely removed but only a few minutes walk from the town centre. All the staff are friendly and helpful but you have to meet Rosa. She will start your day with a smile, a good breakfast, a mastery of Google translate and a laugh - she always got the day off to an excellent start. We'd definitely recommend the villa to friends and family.

This was our first stop after landing in Naples. Right away they made us feel welcome, and even though it was morning so both rooms weren't yet ready, they held our luggage while we went off to lunch at a place they recommended. Luggage was in our rooms when we returned. The rooms were very large and beautifully and comfortably decorated. Our bathroom was actually down a little "hall" from the bed and living area, so that made it feel even larger. We stayed for 4 nights so we were able to unpack into the wardrobe. Both rooms had a view of the sea. Breakfast was lovely! The very friendly breakfast attendant served made to order eggs and other homemade local foods. We are all very picky about our coffee and she graciously made it just the way we liked it. The hotel was quiet, even though a few other people were staying there. Location was about a 5 minute walk from Sorrento city center, in a quiet area so that was perfect. Highly recommend!

The hotel is very unique and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The gardens are pretty and peaceful. It's near to the centre and train station but peaceful. Lovely breakfast. They kindly added beds so we had all single beds for our group. The terrace was beautiful.

There is a small, selfish part of me that doesn't want to talk about Villa Manning Relais. I want to keep it secret....however, that would be doing a disservice to Valeria (General manager) and the wonderful staff and to the villa itself. Villa Manning Relais is a beautiful boutique hotel at the heart of Sorrento, only a very easy 2 minute walk from Piazza Tasso, convenient for everything whilst simultaneously offering a quiet oasis out of the hustle and bustle of the vibrant city. We received a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The staff here really are exceptional and Valeria is so professional, kind and helpful. The villa itself is absolutely beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are nothing short of stunning. I would like to give a special mention to the lovely lady who makes breakfast, I don't think I've ever eaten such delicious things for breakfast in my life, complete with the most amazing home made cakes and pastries! The only regret I have is that we couldn't stay longer. We were so sad to leave, it felt like a home from home. I really cannot think of a single negative thing to say. We have just returned from the most wonderful stay at Villa Manning, such a beautiful oasis and only a short walk from the main square with shops, bars and restaurants. The staff are super friendly, helpful and attentive. Breakfast was a delight, I am gluten free and every day I had a great choice of breads, pastries and wonderful fresh salads/vegetable dishes which had been made from ingredients grown in the garden. The rooms and decor are outstanding, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and great showers. The gardens are beautiful and a lovely place to chill, swim and enjoy the flowers and fruit trees. Would highly recommend, it was hard to leave !!
